Nugget is a monster of a hop

I used 1 ounce cascade pellets @60 to make sure I had enough bitterness then 10 oz fresh picked nugget @ 15 plus 6 oz fresh picked nugget with 4 oz fresh Willamette @5 using my standard pale ale recipe. Came out awesome, very citrusy. I had them in grain bags, next one I will use my biab to...

The dreaded grain mill issues thread

My hull wrecker has worked well for me, roller spacing is 30-34 mils depending on which credit card I used to check. A gap less thenp 25 mils and the grains would sometimes 'ride' on the rollers. I was given a MM3 w/2" rollers and hopper extension. This beast with a big drill is amazing but will...

Nugget is a monster of a hop

My nuggets are 4 yo now. Used miracle grow organic fertilizer beginning, middle and beginning of July. They have never gotten more then 10 feet long until this yr. Might be the fertilizer, having them at a steeper angle from fence extensions or both. Nuggets hit the end of 15' twine and still...

    Recipe suggestions for Minnesota brew

How hot can the wort be before causing the plastic bucket to warp or melt? Sounds like a cream ale will be the base beer. I do not know if he uses corn in it or not. If I get 10 gallons then I will make 5 gal as a variation of the three crops (which I love) using liberty and Willamette or maybe...

How long can i leave it in the fermenter?

I usually keep my beer in the fermenter at least 3 weeks. Stouts and ambers have gone 7 weeks after I dropped the temp to 62f

    Minnesota 2 Vessi Fermentors (free)

Loading was my problem or I would have grabbed one. My boy is not always wanting to road trip with his dad and I am not young anymore where I could lift and put that in the truck. Damn

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

Since my wife's commute is 34 miles through bfe I have looked a bit. It has to be able to sit at 40 below zero and keep her warm and windows frost free during the drive to and from work. Oh and needs the ground clearance for snow and mud too.

CO2 comes out of solution in beer line

Does it follow that particular keg? If you move it to a different line you can determine if gas and beer line related or the particular keg. Then you know what needs troubleshooting,

    Bottling stinks - kegerator?

I have 2.5 and 5 gallons kegs and also bottle. It all comes down to time spent on packaging day or spend some time during the previous week cleaning and sanitizing.

    Recipe suggestions for Minnesota brew

That's our thought, if everyone takes the same base home we can see how it comes out. With all the hops and yeast out there and fermentation temps we should have quite the variety.

    Recipe suggestions for Minnesota brew

Well I will have 5-10 gallons of wort to play with. I wonder if i could make something like a west coast IPA type of beer and also 5 gallons of cream ale? I always have a pound or 2 of wild rice in the pantry plus assorted specialty grains. Or if enough of us want we could just start with a...
