    Oxyclean users - how do you rinse?

    Have I been using to mush Oxyclean? I fill the keggle with warm water to past the caked on gunk and add 4 scoops Oxclean an let soak for overnight and rinse.

    Better-Bottle blow off - drilling stopper?

    I recently solved that problem, I bought a 3 piece airlock,take the top off and the loose piece out. A length of 1/2" vinyl tubing will fir over the center tube of the airlock. Works great and is easy.

    Pum setup

    I would like to see some pictures of how some have set up their pumps, at 67 it is getting difficult to lift containers of liquid. It seem like I would only need 2 hoses with QDs and switch from hlt to mash and then to kettle.

    The most difficult thing with a fly in the wort is getting him to spit it out.

    Adjusting pH of Strike Water?

    I have read that with batch sparging there is no need to adjust PH. If that is the case it is another good reason to batch sparge.

    US 56 yeast

    I recently read a post that indicated tht US 56 yeast's name has been changed to 05 is that the case. Maybe thats why I couldn't find it at my local LHBS.

    What Sanitizer do you use?

    I clean with Oxyclean or StraightA. I sanitize with Star San. I mix up one gallon,pour a couple cups in a carboy and shake sto coat all of inside the rest of the gallon goes in a wallpaper tray(home depot) and all tubes,etc goes in there till I need it. After brewing I pour the Star San back...

    Any sanitizing wipes out there?

    I have never used a commercial wipe, but have made my own. I keep a spray bottle of star san and spray a paper towel and use it as a wipe. I do not like to waste Star San either so here is how I sanitize. I mix 1 gallon of Star San and pour about 1 pint into the fermenter and shake it ervery...

    dry yeast

    I have used Nottigham many times with success. I usually rehydrate it first for a faster start. My last batch I used Safale US 56,just poured it on top out of the pack.,activity started in 9 hrs and produced a good beer.

    Quick Help with Mashing

    hops

    I just purchased some EKG hops in pellet form. The recipe called for leaf, but the store was out of them. What adjustment should I make for the additioins. The store owner said just boil them 45 min instead of 60. That doesn't aound right to me. Any one have experience with this? Thank you

    Introduction

    Hi, this is my first post. Looks like a good forum,I"m looking forward to sharing information with other members. I have been brewing for 4 yrs and do all frain and extract if time is limited. I just tried an IPA from Stone Brewing and really enjoyed it. I would like to find a clone recipe.
