Riptide pump small washer, please help

Thanks to both. I assumed that, but you know what they say about assuming. Just checking to make sure I got the right thing.

Riptide pump small washer, please help

I just got my bag of 100 washers in from McMaster using the link posted above. I don’t need them now and just bought in case I did. Opening the bag, the new washers are not the same size. I think the inner diameter is the same, and the outer is close, but is bigger. Figured I’d ask here, are...

First time kegging - excessive foam

My vote would be new tubing. John Guest adapters are good quality. I like push to connect fittings. The line looks pretty big and the walls look pretty thin. If you want to keep those lines, they will have to be quite a bit longer.

Help me perfect my Low Oxygen IPA process

One quick observation is not cold crashing in the brew bucket. You’re already set up to push the beer with CO2 when kegging. You can cold crash and push CO2 the same way. Just hook your system up and slightly pressurize it. You should see the lid blow up a little bit with the pressure. As...

    220v Plug

The end of the adapter looks way too small for the size needed.

Has anyone ever switched from 3 vessel to all-in-one?

I have changed my setup so many times over the years. Home brewing is all about DIY. I went as far as using the brew boss all in one controller in a 3 vessel rims system. I’ve done rims, herms, batch, biab, fly, basket/bag, diy glycol... I feel like there isn’t something I haven’t dabbled with...

Has anyone ever switched from 3 vessel to all-in-one?

I went from 3v to a brew boss all in one 20 gallon system. I really enjoyed making the move. I was able to save about 2 hours in the process. The beer was just as good. I learned a lot about the biab process and came to respect it more. In the beginning of my brewing hobby, I just wanted to...

    Spike - Steam Condenser Lid

I’ve got to say I laughed a little bit when I read the equivalent of “hey spike, please redesign your product so that it will fit my kettle from a competitor”

    Hop Dropper for SSB Unitank

I know there’s a lot of differences in homebrew techniques vs breweries. I’ve been curious in a lot of those practices in various areas. I tried looking into plate chillers for that reason a year or so ago. Some things we have a major advantage with on our scale. I see a hop dropper as being...

    Hop Dropper for SSB Unitank

So how would somebody drop 22 lbs of hops in with one of these contraptions? That’s for a 7 barrel system, but still fairly small scale.

    Hop Dropper for SSB Unitank

I’ve got it figured out at this point.

    Hop Dropper for SSB Unitank

Yeah, that’s not what I was saying at all. It sounds to me like you’re trying to explain how to drop hops with pressure, and making it more complicated than it needs to be. I’m not talking about dry hopping under pressure. Also not talking about adding hops at the beginning of primary...

    Hop Dropper for SSB Unitank

Follow you on all but the first part. I figure leaving the clamp seal basket cracked just so no hops fall in, but would still allow headspace including the spool to naturally purge. Once hops are dumped, leaving the valve open would keep the same pressure as the rest of the tank. Now I’m not...

    Hop Dropper for SSB Unitank

Bumping this for a quick question. Is there any reason I couldn’t just add a 3 inch butterfly valve to the unitank, a 3 inch spool to it, then the 3 inch pressure valve to the top? I’m guessing people don’t like the idea of that as someone could forget and then close the butterfly valve thus...

    SS Brew e-kettle

Their halo element is 2 inches instead of the regular 1.5. Also, it’s not actually triclamp. The halo slides in from inside out. There is a flat surface with a silicone gasket squeezed between the flat surfaces. It’s not grooved. There is a knurled washer that threads on from the outside...

    Glycol Chiller (Michigan)

If you want to go the diy route, I could walk you through it by PMs. I was very intimidated by the process when reading about it. In the end, I did a few things different, but it worked. There were zero cord cuts or rewiring. The AC was someone else’s junk and I got it free. They can easily be...

    Temperature stratification before fermentation starts

That was a fairly easy test. It’s not 20 feet through stainless consistently. I’d say it’s consistent at 10 feet, possibly 15. It is for sure less than 20 feet. I was not able to walk out of the front of my garage without losing signal. My regular tilt was barely adequate through stainless. It...

    Temperature stratification before fermentation starts

I can test the range if that will help. All I can say is that it is much better. I leave my old cell phone hanging directly on the fermenter. I’ll pull it away and tear the range though.

    Temperature stratification before fermentation starts

I didn’t know about it either until I went to buy a regular one. It’s big. Twice the size if not more than the regular one. That benefits from being more stable in a violent fermentation. It’s still not perfect though as you can see my graphs. There’s swings still, but they do seem a lot more...
