    Flow meter suggestion

Well, it works pretty good. Flow rate stayed stable for the whole process and throughout all temp ranges.

    pH solution

Willing to ship the packets? Don’t need the wet solution. Edit: sorry, disregard that. Clicked the pic and noticed it’s not 7.0 solution

WTB S/S HERMS coil for 15 gal kettle

Let me know if you need a diameter measurement.

WTB S/S HERMS coil for 15 gal kettle

I have something that might work. I feel like it’s a 25 ft Ss coil, 3/8 tubing, with 1/2 inch NPT bulkheads. Could possibly be small for a 15g kettle. I had it in my 10. I’ll send a pic in a bit. Might need new compression inserts. I feel like it came from brewhardware.com.

    Ssbrewtech eController videos

Hey all, I just uploaded a few videos to YouTube about the Ssbrewtech eController and how I use it. Not claiming to know everything about it, just wanted to post my experience and opinion. I wanted to post it because my experience has been largely positive, but I know many have not had the...

    Large element source

I’m not an electrician and could be wrong on this ... if so, I’m sure someone will correct me. I don’t believe you can get an element that powerful off of typical 240v power. Most elements that I see are run at 5.5k. I’d think that for something that can put out 10k, you’d need 3 phase power...

How many of you guys with an eBIAB setup let the bag touch the element?

I might be able to help you with the Ssbrewtech controller. PM me if you’d like to talk. I believe you have self tune enabled, which will cause problems.

    Switch to E-Brewing - Opinions, Pro's & Con's

It should not cost you 2000 dollars to convert. I wouldn’t expect it to be that high. You can buy a premade name brand controller for much less than that amount that can handle your 3v system. Not trying to steer you in any direction, but will give an example. The Ssbrewtech 3v controller is...

    Flow meter suggestion

Wondering how much it will actually change over time. No way to know till I try it. I think it’s better for repeatability and ball park estimates than actual precise measurements.

    Flow meter suggestion

Good catch. So setting at say 1.4 gallons per minute won’t actually be accurate for the duration of the mash?

    Flow meter suggestion

Bumping this as I just bought a similar meter to the one linked here. I got the .2-2 gallon version. I wanted to ask how the density of wort compared to water might affect the reading? Not sure if the stainless weight being so heavy makes density negligible, or if the reading will be higher...

    Spike Solo Owner's Thread

I’d say it’s more of a visual estimation. I know what full bore speed looks like and I’m guessing that I’m about half that. I could take a flow volume measurement. It’s for sure a much faster flow rate than I’ve ever used before. I really attribute that to the large mill gap. I was pretty...

    Spike Solo Owner's Thread

Don’t own any spike gear, but wanted to read about you guys experiences. I struggled with stuck mashes on my brew boss system regularly. I’ve recently upgraded to a Ssbrewtech system. I always had a fairly fine mill gap setting but was scared of a stuck mash on this system. I’ve been...

Making holes in a glass carboy

I would avoid doing this at all costs. Glass is dangerous enough. The glass walls support the weight of the liquid inside. Introducing a weak point in that scares me. I’ve seen very few people that didn’t pick up and move car boys while full. I already look at car boys like a grenade. They are...

    Unitank harvest carbonated yeast

Will harvesting yeast after a pressurized ferment hurt the yeast. Yeast will be stored in mason jars in the fridge. Harvesting will happen during the clean out portion by just catching the good stuff after a trub dump.

    Advice on next step

Also ... don’t discount Bracc’s advice. There’s a difference in CO2 produced by fermentation and CO2 that bubbles up every in a while from slightly carbonated beer. Don’t remove the air lock, but giving it a slight swirl around just to see what happens isn’t going to hurt it at all. The...

Quick couplers for 5/16 CO2 lines

I wouldn’t put them directly onto a barb. You can put a few inches of line on the barb, then a push to connect joiner.

Quick couplers for 5/16 CO2 lines

Yep to the above. Install Eva barrier tubing with duotight connectors everywhere you can.

Valve tree designs for 3v fly sparge w/ 2 pumps

Curious if any of you have or know of a good valve tree design. Not something that’s needed, but sure looks fancy. Not sure is economical with as many hose swaps as I do, but checking to see what out there.

    Brewers Edge first use

I’d question the mesh size on the hop spider. Maybe use bags. Not much else you can do. An extreme would be to drill it and add a larger port. I’m not a fan of that option though.
