Frustrated. Just set up my first (expensive to me) soda kit and am surprised with the poor results.

Never tried doing what you’re doing. I did look into sparkling water for a friend though. I read about the importance of using good water briefly. I don’t see how that would affect carbonation, i think it was more for clarity. Still worth checking. Cold temp, time, and patience are going to be...

    stainless steel mash tun

I might not be following you because I can’t visualize it. My autosparge is arriving this week. What’s the purpose of the o-ring?

    stainless steel mash tun

Maybe try a blichmann autosparge. If setting multiple pump speeds and turning valves is a hassle, that might help. Supposedly you can open the pumps up fairly fast and control the entire systems rate by throttling the speeding going into the kettle. Everything else adjusts to that rate.

Mind posting your recipe for it?

    Chocolate Candied Orange Milk Stout

Reminds me of the chocolate orange that I always get around Christmas time. I think I remember somebody making a thread on it trying to reproduce the flavor. Maybe search for that. Good luck

    25 ft stainless herms coil

I believe this is 3/8 stainless tubing. Can’t remember. Has compression style fittings to adapt to 1/2 NPT. Can’t remember where I bought this from. Maybe brewhardware.com 50 dollars to your door

Need help deciding on which grain mill to buy

I’ve got the regular ungeared 3 roller MM with a corded drill. I tried adding a few different motors to it, and while some worked decent, none worked great. If I ever have need to buy another mill, or have someone looking for just the plain MM3 so I can upgrade the geared MM3 would be my go to.

Brew Boss 20 Gal Basket Capacity???

This is taken from Darin’s website. I agree with it as I know I’ve gotten 34 lbs of grain in the basket before. There was a little room, but not much.

What size extension for blichmann autosparge

Got ya. I have seen those videos. I just recently spent money on Ssbrewtechs big recirculation manifold. I want to try to keep using it. I even used it during the sparge process as well. I just bought an autosparge of the forums that has a 12 inch arm. I’ll give it a shot and buy the 9 inch if...

What size extension for blichmann autosparge

I think the 9 is what I’m going to want in the end. I had thought about setting mine up with camlock adapters to be able to install and remove it easily. I think I’d rather vorlauf outside of the autosparge. I’m wanting to recirculation through my mash manifold instead of the floating line on...

Pressure gauge on fermenter and regulator don't match by a lot. Which is right? How do I know?

Remember wetting pressure. I suggest that you test out the outside gauge accuracy by filling without any restrictions. The carb stone has restrictions to it, effectively reducing the pressure going through it. Add some pressure to your flex+ through the blow off arm, or racking valve. See what...

Ss brewtech mash tun temp problems

It’s a very good insulated mash tun. It holds temp very well. That’s true for cold temp as well. It’s a large thermal mass to heat or cool, but once it’s there, it maintains very well. You’ve got to give it time to stabilize. You need to preheat the mash tun, or the tun itself will suck up the...

Dumb question on yeast harvest w/ enzyme

About to harvest yeast from a brut ipa today before dry hopping. I’m assuming the enzyme will remain on the yeast and only be good for future similar batches. Anyone done this before and are able to report on subsequent pitches of how the yeast behaved?
