aw man, that sucks. I just replied to your PM Henry Hill...but I responded before I read this. Maybe I will sell it to you if it's not NPT. I didn't even think of that. I'll let you know when I get them.
EDIT:
Just checked the MCF site again....I think they *SHOULD* be NPT threads...
Holy crap, i just did some searching around and I found sites selling this valve or $168. Dang, maybe I will sell these and get some 2 Piece valves!!! At least one of them anyway. 1 is going on my boil kettle and te other is just going on my cooler mash tun....seems like such a waste to put...
Seriously??? Wow. I thought it was a good deal, but I had no idea..
I saw them yesterday, and I was going to post before I bought them..but I decided for $27 it was probably better to buy them first and ask questions later :)
I has also sent some questions to the seller, but once I found...
I just bought 2 new Stainless Steel ball valves on ebay for $27 shipped. These are a good deal right? Seems that the Homebrew stores charge about $25-27 for ONE + Shipping.
I looked up the manufacturer MCF and found that FRS66TEI is the Product code and it means that:
F = Full Port
RS =...
I decided I dont want to use brass valves and nipples.
I just bought 2 New 3-Piece SS Ball Valves on ebay. I checked the manufacturer "MCF" and found they were full port valves so I jumped on them... $27 Shipped. This is a good deal right???

Interesting...is that copper or brass?
Ideally I'd like to keep everything copper or stainless inside the kettle...even tho Im using a brass valve. Not sure why, it just feel better that way :)
I just got done drilling a hole in my keggle for the weld-b-gone bulkhead fitting...
Here is a pic of the keggle with the hole, and the keggle's best friend, the mash tun:
I used a 3/4" hole saw and a dremel to widen the hole a little. I have brass valve and nipples, that I have to pickle...
It creates a siphon.
As long as you have some tubing hooked up to the outlet, and the tubbing is below the bottom of the cooler, it will siphon until it starts sucking air.
I don't think you should worry about the availability of CO2. If you get a 10lb tank, that will last you a LONG time. I forget the numbers, but it will last a long time.
This could be cool, but I would get sick of buying those pressure pack things.
sounds awesome. Have you tribe submerging that coil in 5 gallons? I have a 50 IC and it doesn't get submerged in my keggle with 5 gallons. The chiller is 10" in diameter.
I'd be careful about making the diameter too large. I think you're better off with a few coils out of the beer and the...
EDIT: Mis-read the post....
Can you just plop something right on top of the grain bed? I don't see a reason for it to go up and down unless it has a float switch on it.
I got 2 of those 50 qt ice cubes at target. Then I did a little research. I ended up taking them back and I got a 70 qt coleman xtreme at walmart for $38.
I haven't used it yet but its supposed to be good. I also have a 5 gallon cylindrical cooler and that holds temps without any probs.
