    I hate bottling

I kegged my first batch a while ago...it sure was quicker. But even after I kegged, I got a Bench Capper and I will be bottling my latest batch this weekend. I still like bottles. I like bottle conditioning them better. O and I was sick of dealing with keg leaks and running out of...

    Crash Cooling before Bottling???

I am bottling my latest batch this weekend and I was considering Crash cooling the primary fermenter before doing so. Is this not a good idea for bottling though? Will too much yeast fall out of suspension and not allow for carbonation in the bottle? Thanks.

Bitter vs Aroma Hops IPA Questions

You could ditch the 60 minute addition all together and just do 1 or 2 big late additions, if you have enough hops. From what I've heard, you can still achieve the IBUs you want this way, but it is much smoother and has an incredible hop flavor/aroma....downside is it requires a lot more hops.

Iodophorius: Born on the Isle of Iodophoria where no living bacteria is known to exist. Distant cousin of Starsanious, who he unites with in eternal battle against Septicimius. However, his appearance has been stained dark brown due to his jealousy of Starsanious' elustrious foam.

Red Ale is watery please help diagnose

It could be the yeast making the flavor bland. What yeast came with the kit? Maybe try doing the same recipe but use some dry Danstar Nottingham or Safale S-05 and see if it's any different

    16 QT Pot

I used a 16 qt pot for extract and PM beers for about a year and half. It can be done, but 20qt would be much better. If you step up to AG in the furture, having 5 gallons of hot water on the side vs 4 gallons is a huge benefit.

Brutus 20 Constant Recirculation Direct Fired Mash Process Review

Can this be done with a Cooler as the MLT? And the BK will be the only thing direct fired? I dont see why not. I guess it would just take longer to get things heated up.

    Fly sparging question

Cuz it takes me 10-15 minutes and I get about 80% efficiency. That's why I batch sparge.

    Fly sparging question

When you are done fly sparging all the wort will be in the boil kettle. Same as when you are done batch sparging. When you're done, you're done. Just think of it as a continuous sparge rather than a 2 step sparge as with batch sparging.
