    I like cloudy beer!

I am with you on the cloudy beer thing, especially in a commercial beer or craft brew, to me they tend to have more character to them.

    Nanobrewery..Road to failure

Nope, but talked to a lot of people who run breweries and/or work in them at tasting events, read some good stories about places that make award winning beer that shut down because it's not really a money maker. Even people who operate successful brew pubs tend to say the same thing.

    Nanobrewery..Road to failure

Another thing with Nano's is a lot of people (in any small business) think they are making money, but don't factor in a lot of other things (like gas, electricity costs, water, wear and tear on your vehicle, and regular maintenance). One big expense can sink a small business, many hidden...

    Nanobrewery..Road to failure

Like any home business, with the right money, product and overall sheer will, determination and some luck of course you can make it happen. But it sure as heck ain't easy. Just like opening a restaurant, so many fail.

    What is your "go-to" beer?

I prefer to always have a multi-pack case of whatever craft brewery I can find in a store. Latest one was a Pyramid 24 pack from Costco that had a winter ale, octoberfest, ipa and barleywine. Also a Blue Moon multipack with some spring ales in it. I prefer to always have something different...

I went "pro" - What it actually takes to do so

This is very, very true. I have been to a lot of brewpubs with great beer and ok food, they are easy to get into. A place with great beer and incredible food is always packed. Plus people will stay and drink beer while eating their food!

    Gave beer novices yeast farts

I like a small amount of the yeast in the beer, enough to add a touch of body without a yeasty flavour.

Homebrewing myths that need to die

never been a fan of anyone who has decided to come up with a list of criteria of what good beer tastes like, this applies to wine, spirits, as well as what makes a good movie and many other things.

Have you ever been embarassed making an alcohol purchase?

Everytime I make sangria, I buy the cheapest raspberry red wine I can find. Would never even dream of drinking it, but damn it makes for some awesome sangria. I am always a little bit ashamed to go up to the till with 2 bottles of raspberry wine.

Bottle Conditioning / Carbing - allow more time? or less?

Thanks for the replies, I'll be sure to put my smoked wheat beers (BBS) in the fridge after 3 weeks and look at other styles for longer in the bottles (may even split a few batches to play around.

    Distracted Small Batch Brewing

how high was the temp when mashing out the Choc Maple Porter? I picked up a 2 Gallon Mash Tun, really like it so far for both Mash and Sparge process.

Bottle Conditioning / Carbing - allow more time? or less?

Just a general question, have you found that your beer tastes better or worse when you let it carb up for longer before putting it in the fridge? For example does 6 weeks make it taste better than 3 weeks? or is it pretty much the same at this point.

Homebrewing myths that need to die

    1) I would say that another myth is that beer contests and "professional" beer tasters know what they are talking about. If they don't the same beer palate that you do, their advice is useless. The wine industry suffers from this one a low. 2) Also, a gold winning beer is good Same as...

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

    Nothing artificial in that beer

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

I quite like this beer, it is also really fun to take to a party, camping or event. I make people try it and it is usually 3 out of 10 that actually like it. It is a novelty beer at most, even better as a breakfast beer while camping. In fact that beer can literally be your breakfast! It's ok...

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

I would say Rogue Beers to me has the most inconsistent hit/miss ratio. Liqourice Porter - horrid, I do love the maple bacon beer though (it's a breakfest beer), but it is not for everyone. Rogue has had some awesome beers like Double Dead Guy ale, and undrinkables like their Single Malt Ale...
