making it taste better: the quest

What are you brewing with now? Extract kits I'm imagining? I'm only one brew in, but I used light dry malt extract, hopped it myself, along with steeping crystal grains for color/flavor, and it really wasn't that difficult. While my brew isn't ready yet, I'm fairly confident from what I've seen...

Bottling first brew soon, and I'm too excited.

I like that setup with the bottle wand straight off the spigot, might have to try that instead of doing what i was going to do. Also, should I boil my bottle caps, or will a soak in starsan do? I also just planned on filling my bottles with starsan then allowing them to air dry, is this...

Bottling first brew soon, and I'm too excited.

Read about Jalapeno beer.. had to try it.

I've had a chili beer once, and I believe it was the cave creek one. It didn't taste that great, but wasn't good either. Certainly not as spicy as everyone seems to make it out to be. I also order my Indian food Indian hot, though. I would recommend having another beer in the other hand and...

Using star san for the first time in carboy.

Well what i ended up doing was mixing a gallon of the solution in a gallon jug, pouring about half of that into the carboy and shaking for a bit. Then i used the sypon and tubes to syphon the fluid back into the jug so that they were sanatized too. It seemed to have worked out well.

Using star san for the first time in carboy.

Hey all, first time brewer here and I'm preparing to move from my primary to my secondary fermentor today. I picked up a bottle of star san after reading much about it here. I was just curious about the best way to use it in a glass carboy, and how much do I need to use? Is just a gallon...
