I get the grain crushed at my LHBS. I want kind of a toasty not too sweet IPA with a high ABV. Shooting for about 6.5% - 7%. If i add more victory and subtract the grain from my base and mash at 154-152 for 60min that sounds like i should get the what i want. you guys agree? The main thing i'm...

    Fermentation - Temp Level

Great reply and question. I can boil this down to a few improvements. 1. Pitch @ 64 (or wait till the beer settles to room temp before pitching) 2. Keep the fermentors in a cool place and leave it Any other suggestions you can offer?

    Fermentation - Temp Level

Thanks! I pitched at 64 and moved the beer to a closet upstairs where it warmed up the to the 73 i saw when i came home. I think moving forward i will keep ll my beer in the utility closet downstairs.

    Fermentation - Temp Level

I believe it is the same as 1056. I moved it to the downstairs utility closet that sits on my foundation slab and is about 2-4 degrees cooler. Hopefully the damage is minimal, this is my first AG batch and the beer to perfect. Thanks for all the help!
