    First All-Grain Recipe

So if I am looking it up on Brewfather, for example, it would be something like this?

    First All-Grain Recipe

So, I made the leap of faith and ordered a Anvil Foundry 10.5. I am moving to all-grain to have some greater control over my beer. Well, I will still be doing some 1 to 2 gallon extract batches as well, but this will be for my 3-5 gallon batches. And so.. for my first all-grain beer, I have...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

It’s more than 1 gallon.. it’s whatever Craft a Brew has. Got it from them. The mini auto-siphon would definitely be a good idea for those. The bigger one I have was a pain in the ass.

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I am pretty new to this, but my plan for 1 gallon batches is to do them in either my 1 gallon carboy, or start doing them in my Pinter once I run of the packs I purchased from them. Of course, the Pinter limits dry hopping / adding some things, so those batches will be limited to the recipes...

Vanilla Cream Ale - Boil Length and LME Additions

Okay, I am down to try this. I wonder why the recipe just calls for a steep of these grains then. Just for simplicity purposes?

Vanilla Cream Ale - Boil Length and LME Additions

While I agree, isn't that the idea though? Aren't these just specialty grains primarily intended to contribute flavor and color and not the fermentable sugars?

Vanilla Cream Ale - Boil Length and LME Additions

Okay, this all makes sense. Color doesn’t matter too much to me (yet), as long as taste is good. Still would like to try to keep it somewhat lighter if there is a chance. I am sure I will be headed to all grain eventually anyway, but this is where I plan to stick until I really get my feet...

Vanilla Cream Ale - Boil Length and LME Additions

This makes sense. I've been trying to read up all over the place on this method I want to try. I've mostly been seeing it's fine to do, but just want to make sure I am not missing anything before I give it a shot.

Vanilla Cream Ale - Boil Length and LME Additions

So I just got started into brewing, and I've started with extract kits. One of the first things I've learned about extract kits is the darker color they can give the brew. My first brew - a golden ale - hit the taste profile I wanted, but definitely came out a bit darker than I expected. And...

    Greeting from Illinois!

Hello all! I recently started getting into brewing about a month ago. It first started when I ordered a Pinter. I was talking to some buddies about it, and one of them told me he had equipment he doesn't use anymore. Several weeks later, I currently have a 5-gallon batch Golden Ale in the...
