    Confession Time

I'm planning to rush a batch. I desperately want to try the maple bacon ale I made and so I intend to keg it at 13 days in primary followed by a 30 psi force carb. I want her ready by the time the day off roles around. Also to try the Blackberry Red which has now been priming for what will be 9...

    concerning social media...

Agree all. I have posted here before that I thought this was really good place to waste a LOT of time. I know this because since I joined last month I have been glued to this site. I am always learning and often inspired by what folks say and do here. Its also funny as $hit! Cheers to a great...

Just curious. How many batches before you're not a beginner?

This is a great thought and well spoken! As a new brewer to the game, the joy in home brewing for me is about the craft. Taking some stuff, turning into other DELICIOUS stuff on your own, and doing so independently is a bit inspirational. I was having a conversation with a friend today who...

Just curious. How many batches before you're not a beginner?

I very much look forward to that day. I noticed even my second batch was MUCH less precise than the first. Third batch on Friday. I guess I'll strike a balance when I ball a batch up from not paying enough attention to it.

What I did for beer today

I just got home with a keezer I bought on Saturday. I look over at the computer to SWMBO and say, "Well honey, looks like I'm starting over!" :ban:

Hey beer nerds, judges and cicerones, don't be a beer snob

The great thing about beer snobs though is that they provide a frame of reference upon which to consider home brewers. When looking through that frame of reference comparing the snob to the home brewer, I see home brewers as a group of patriotic and hard working men and women from a myriad of...

    Sunday Morning

Woke up at 10 with a wicked headache after partying till ?? and coming home from buying a keezer off a guy last night with some buddies. Aspirin. Water. Back to sleep. Up at 1 (I blame the time change) and moved from bed to couch. Check HBT for what's new and proceed to scheme on how to skip the...

    Confession Time

I wanted to build a keezer and was lined up to do so but build partner found one for sale for less money than it would cost to build so I copped and bought it. I am now running a keezer with my beer in it that I myself did not build.

    Hello from Trenton Oh

Welcome! Equipment, based on how you set up, can be very expensive. I would recommend trying to DIY some of your stuff if you can. When you do start brewing, be very careful. This hobby can be a slippery slope into obsession! It's a ton of fun to make any beer you want however you want. Looking...

A keezer to be proud of

Admittedly, I cheated and got this guy at 9mos old for 550. Still, I'm STOKED to keg my brew and not have to through the A$$ pain of bottling.
