Dropped my Bourbon Barrel, lost 1/2 gal out the top.

Ouch, hope no injuries. On the other side, what does soft mean?

    Please Help! Opinions Needed!

No need to worry, worst case scenario this batch is bad and you get yourself another tin of extract and try again. I made probably 8-10 of them last year around this time as I worked up my nerve to get into grain brewing.

First batch in 15+ years... what if the fermenter is not bubbling?

I use kegs but I cold crash it and gelatin fine the beer in a PET carboy cause they're lighter and easier to use. I could probably just use buckets but I kind of like seeing the activity in the carboy. I starsan everything as I get going but I wash everything thoroughly before I put it away...

1st home brew for 20 year!!!

I forgot half of a 10 gallon batch in a carboy in the fridge for 3 weeks, other than coming out .02 points lower in FG than the first half it was fine. There is some stuff around leaving hops in longer having a bit of a grassy hay taste to it but really until you taste it you can't know.

    All Stainless/Silicone Siphon Starter

I'm extremely interested in this but it seems to be more of a pipe dream than a reality.

Suddenly Foamy Pours on 1 Tap

Oh I may have missed that. If that's the case I'd suspect a coupler somewhere is letting air in the line. I put hose clamps on all mine just to be sure.

First time kegging: carbing, travel, and chilling questions

I'd suggest carbing through the liquid line initially while the beer is cold. That will carb it fastest, leave it fairly pressurized when you take it away. You probably don't need to keep it cool while transporting it but you will want to chill it and let it settle when you get there, then...

Suddenly Foamy Pours on 1 Tap

Check the o-rings on your keg. I had one where I accidentally tore an o-ring and didn't notice, foamed like a bastard.

TIPS and TRICKS for beginning home brewers

Agreed, I cold crash and gelatin fine a week to 10 days after brewing. Then generally keg it a couple days later. I'm usually in the keg inside 14 days. I've only been doing all grain since June but I've learned a lot. I think my biggest take away is that you don't need to be scared...

Fuming - About Ready to Hang it Up

Sounds tasty and that's a nice setup. I batch sparge and end up consistently in the 65-70% efficiency range so I'm not sure where you would run into an issue. I use a brew bag as well in my tun as it makes cleanup a whole lot easier. Someday I will have a nicer setup than

    Rectangular Cooler Mash Tun

I started with a round Igloo and with with a brew bag in it to mash like the Brulosophy guys do. I've gone to a rectangular one as I want to do 10 gallon batches and I couldn't effectively do it wiht the Igloo. So I passed it on to a friend that is getting into the hobby and got a rectangular...

    Glyphosate Free Beer / Grains

It's done a fair amount in Canada due to the shortness of our growing seasons. Glyphosate is one of the least toxic things a human being can ingest in the farming cycle.

Just got a Festa Brew West Coast IPA kit today, has anyone tried it?

This kit was my first attempt ever at beer last January. It turned out well and got me started into the hobby. I am doing 10 gallon all grain batches right now so it was a good intro into the world. People turning their nose up about it aren't worth the time to read.
