    Critique my e-brewing Schematic

I have to ask. If you got spare modules to use as book ends do you have a spare thermalcouple module you can let go cheap or trade? I need one for my allen bradley build.

    My FULL-ON electric build thread

Nice job! I just read thru the hole thread and have to say I like the concept. Have you thaught of using a plc to control this masterpiece or are you happy with your processor interface? I know labview interfaces with plc's nicely. I've done it before an am working on my own automated rig using...

Single Tier, 3 Pump, BCS-462, Automated Rig

Thanks for the input. I am building my new rig now and am cloning yours somewhat hope you don't mind. I'm using an allen bradley plc and labview for the software though. And I'm taking your advise and putting the pumps inlet down.

    Super Simple 15G Plastic Conical

I've read through this hole thing and seems like people are using pvc with no problems. Just make sure it's cleaned well after each use. Don't use a scrubby on them or you will leave scratches for bacteria to hide in.

new system build and need input

OK, started maching up the plumbing and pump locations etc. I got all the welding done except for the last burner. So far only have 5 of the 6 casters on it due to the home depot ran out of them. The next step will be to finish the plumbing mach up so I can tear it down and paint it. Here's a...

Single Tier, 3 Pump, BCS-462, Automated Rig

I got the PDF file for the pump and it just says to put the arrow in direction of flow for the system. Here's the link. http://www.marchpump.com/site/files/966/112196/382493/612759/0809-0053-1100_R3.pdf I had mine with the inlet to the left and outlet to the right on my old rig. It worked good.

Single Tier, 3 Pump, BCS-462, Automated Rig

I have been looking at other threads throughout this forum and it looks like people are puting the inlet up or sideways so it will prime by gravity through the pump. that's why I ask you. I am building a rig similur to yours and i was gonna put the pumps the other way.

Single Tier, 3 Pump, BCS-462, Automated Rig

Was looking at your rig very nice! have one question, I noticed you have your pump inputs on the bottom. Do you have a problem with priming that way? do you think it would work if the pumps were turned 180 degrees?

    Soldering Stainless steel

I baught mine online. It cost me more to ship than to buy it. But it works the best.

    Super Simple 15G Plastic Conical

Personally, I feel it's a matter of preference. I seal mine just because I like the pressure buildup right before I rack it to the kegs. No more flat beers out of the fermentor that way. Others just leave it like it is with no airlock or anything and do just fine also so I've heard. So don't...

new system build and need input

I wrote the software in labview. The plc is an allen bradley. They were used as demo models and come in a case with switches etc. built in. They are spc 5's.they have processor, power supply, programmer, and 3 slots of I/O. I have a serial port adaptor that allows me to hook it to my PC and run...

After checking pricing on stainless tubing and fittings, I've decided to go with copper for the plumbing on this thing. If anyone has better idea let me know.

    Paint strainer usage for biab

Looking on line I find the brew bags for just over 4 bucks a piece. Of course thats an order deal so there's shipping and tax. Home depot is looking up! The nylon thing dont look right to me they stretch and seem to hold your hops in a tight ball. I think they should be loose so you get max...

    Paint strainer usage for biab

Here's a question for everyone. I want to use a bag for my hops in the boil and am considering all possibilities. A friend of mine uses his wifes old nylons (washed of course). He cuts the legs off and uses them like bags. What do you all think of that? Is it okay or not? Who has a good source...

new system build and need input

Well started laying out burners etc. on my new stand and noticed that the keggles slide around pretty easy on top of this thing. Has anyone come up with a solution to this? I was thinking of welding little tabs on outside edge to keep the keggle from sliding off edge if bumped be accident...

new system build and need input

Started the software for this build and here's a screenshot of the front panel of the GUI. The pipes and pumps are blue when not in use and turn yellow when they are being used. The burners show flames when they are on also. I was told by the welder that my stand will be ready to be picked up on...

    Soldering Stainless steel

I tried that home depot stuff and I had no success with it. Use the harris flux they mention in this thread. It works.
