Can't get Homebrew to feel like like I want...

Now, this question may be real stupid, but I thought I'd give it a shot. I started doing extract kits, then AG. Well my extract kits all had this "watery" or lack of mouthfeel compared to commercial beers. (excuse my descriptions I'm not real sure how to describe it). I thought AG would...

1st attempt for a Nut Brown

I switched to Marris Otter for the base malt. I kept the rest of the new grain bill the same, more to satisfy my curiosity (it's a learning experience right?). I'll let everyone know how it turns out.. Thanks for the advice given!

    Hop problems this season

    Hop problems this season

...well dang. I have no idea what was on mine...I ended up cutting the vines about where they just started dieing. It was weird, the vines were green and healthy until somewhere along the vine, there was what looked like egg sacks and the vine turned brown and died.

    Hop problems this season

I grew some hop vines in Southern Maryland at my parents house. All seemed fine, especially my Cascades. They really did well until after the last harvest. Some of the vines turned brown and died. After closer inspection (I had been gone at school since I decided to go back for grad school)...

    So I'm Having difficulty understanding...

I apologize, that these questions are common...but after a lot of searching I'm still unsure. Now, I'm starting to look into my water, to see if maybe playing with the profile will give my a beer a little more "oopmh" towards improvement. I finally installed an inline carbon filter to filter...

1st attempt for a Nut Brown

So, I tried redesigning the recipe, anyone have suggestions? Too much caramel? Not enough base malt? Might be overdoing the bready/nutty flavors through too much victory and vienna? 2-Row Malt 7.10 lb 65.0 % Caramel 40L Malt 1.64 lb 15.0 % Vienna Malt 1.09 lb...

1st attempt for a Nut Brown

I do have Brown malt in there, should I try adding more? Or cut the Brown and run with vienna munich or victory? Or a combination?

1st attempt for a Nut Brown

So I brewed, bottled and tasted my first AG and my first recipe I tried devising. So I planned for a Nut Brown. The beer turned out to be not nutty at all, the color was darker than I expected (not that big of a deal). Anyway, I was wondering if I could get some comments on the grain bill I...

    Recipe suggestions

I was also planning on adding Brown sugar. Would you recomend a higher mash temp like 154 or 155? And maybe cutting the amount of crystal to 10% 20L and 2.5% 90L?

    Recipe suggestions

I'm new here so I apologize if this is a repeat question to you guys. So I'm working on putting together my first recipe on my own. I want to make a pumpkin ale. I love dogfish head punkin and southern tiers pumking. So I started putting together this recipe. Could you tell me if the grain...
