    What are you drinking now?

It’s Friday, it’s noon, so it’s the weekend. Time for a beer. I’m out of HB in the city so I’m drinking what’s on sale. 9 bucks for a sixer. Not a bad WCIPA. I’m gonna hit the LHBS this afternoon to pick up ingredients to brew tomorrow.

    What are you drinking now?

Bone Dust Wheat Ale from Bridger Brewing in Bozeman. They call it a wheat ale but it’s a Wit; the description includes coriander, white pepper, and orange peel. Pretty good. I think this is what Blue Moon wants to be when it grows up. 😎

    RIP Old Workhorse

By moving the green, two story, “tower of power” stove/oven combo a few inches to the left I could use the old fridge door as part of a door to the storage area to the right of the stove. The wall is unfinished (it’s load bearing) but putting the fridge door next to the stove would be a way to...

    RIP Old Workhorse

As someone who is a former pro mechanic, and has serviced/maintained/modified a fleet of farm equipment and vehicles for 48 years, I have the skills and equipment to repair the old fridge. At this point, convenience is more important than reviving the old unit. We already spend about half our...

    RIP Old Workhorse

I had to say goodbye to my 1963 GE kegerator. It’s 61 yo compressor no longer compresses. It was free when I got it, 11 years ago. Everything but the sticker collection is transferable to another fridge, and I have a source for slightly used appliances, which are also free, so it won’t be the...

    What are you drinking now?

You might want to try that name out on a non-homebrewing focus group. Just sayin’…😉

    What are you drinking now?

First full pour of the Leftovers Amber I kegged on Tuesday. For a “using up a little of this and a little of that” recipe this ain’t bad. 5.75%, 24 IBU, 13 SRM. I don’t know that I’d brew this again on purpose but it’s a pretty respectable beer.

    What are you drinking now?

I need to rummage through the fridge to see if I have any tonic water. I have Bombay gin, but I’m a Robert Earl Keen fan. “They got a motel by the water and a quart of Bombay gin…”

What I did for beer today

Kegged an Amber Ale, sort of a “clean out the cupboard” recipe, that I brewed about 3 weeks ago. The sample tasted pretty good.
