[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

I'm halfway through rereading this mega post, but don't remember this issue. I'm stuck on where to put RPints folder. The instructions say to put it in /var/www but there isn't a www folder in my var folder. I'd like to use the default to keep it a standard install. Why wouldn't there be...

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

I just finished reading all 96 pages, geez! This seems just the ticket for the Copper Cat Brewery and I've ordered the parts. If anyone has a place to get accurate flow sensors for less, please let me know. I've been searching Ebay and elsewhere, but so far no luck. I may buy 2 to start...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Do you see krausen? At what temp are you fermenting?

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I love this beer and I have brewed more than a hundred gallons of it. It is always on tap two at my house. There would be an uprising with pitchforks and torches if my friends came over and it wasn't there. Having said that, don't do it. Brew it and add a lemon squeeze if you want to...

How do I not get that vegitative green taste in my IPAs?

You are right. I have a small freezer in the brewery specifically to store my hops. Not all, but my common hops I vacuum pack in portions. Others I double bag in zip locks and squeeze the air out. I try to discard my hops annually when the new crop comes in, even if they are from my own hop...

How do I not get that vegitative green taste in my IPAs?

Hahaa.. ok. Let's look at the notes on the RIPA. Perhaps this one didn't have the 300ppm, I believe I did try that range though. I think the Sulphate:Chloride ratio is more important than a set sulphate concentration for hop presence. The profile on this one was CA 86, Mg 3, S04 161 Cl 42...

How do I not get that vegitative green taste in my IPAs?

Thank you for this post. We don't have 'customers' since this is just something we do for our friends and family. I am very critical of beers in general and my homebrews in particular. Our house beers have been tweaked over 100's of gallons of brewing. I'm always thinking about how each...

How do I not get that vegitative green taste in my IPAs?

I'm seasoned. I have an RO water system that I can get 20gal of RO for each brew and I build my liquor. I do 1/2 barrel batches on a two pump brew sculpture with triple PID controllers. I've tried a number of hop enhancing liquor profiles on my IPAs. I've used my own home grown hops and...

How do I not get that vegitative green taste in my IPAs?

Yes, wet and dry yeasts. I tend to do US05 on most stuff. However, I've used a number of different wet yeasts.

How do I not get that vegitative green taste in my IPAs?

I'm a seasoned homebrewer. I've won Gold for my DIPA at Beervana. I hate my IPAs. They always seem to have a very green vegetative finish to them that commercial IPAs don't seem to have. I've varied my dry hopping from a week to only 3 days. None of them have the clean crisp hop finish...

Built a Brutus 10 style rig, have some questions after a dismal first brew day.

Welcome to Brutus brewing. I love my rig (HAL is it's name) and recently changed to RTD temp probes from K type thermocouples. When I changed I had a couple miss steps by selecting the wrong RTD on the controller menu. It wasn't 15 degrees off, it was waaaay off or negative. I'm using a...

    Double IPA Tits-Up Imperial IPA (3-Time Medalist - 2 Golds, 1 Silver)

Thanks BM, we got a gold medal at Sonoma Beervana last week for a beer we based on this recipe. :ban: Our first ever gold.

Help me build my BCS-462 control panel!

    1. I would move up to a 50A GFCI, it never hurts to have some extra capacity. I'm assuming you will be using 220V elements? If so, then 5500 watts translates to 25A, if not then it's already at 50A. Pumps are not big power hogs, March 809s need less than .2 Amp. You didn't mention how much...

    Brutus 10 BYO Plans Changes?

I'm subscribed to this thread, since long ago I too was looking for updates. If I were to do it again, I'd definitely make it large enough for 25-30s. I'm wanting to upgrade to half barrels, since my beer seems to evaporate so fast from the taps. I ended up going with Stout Tanks and...

    Double IPA Tits-Up Imperial IPA (3-Time Medalist - 2 Golds, 1 Silver)

Overshot a bit, but even the wort tastes great. Can't wait to sit down with a pint of it.

Can a 15 Gal batch be done in 20 Gal BK?

Thanks, it's what I was thinking too. I can be careful with boil over issues, I like my silicon in ****s. I was hoping someone would jump on here and say they were doing it with or without a problem.

Can a 15 Gal batch be done in 20 Gal BK?

I want to move up to 15 gal batches, but the biggest BK that will fit on my Brutus 10 is a tall 19.8 gallon kettle. My friend said he didn't think there was enough head room for expansion, evaporation volume and boiling. I must suck at searching cause I can't find any threads referencing BK...

How many gallons of BierMuncher's Centennial Blonde have been brewed?

Last brew of the year yesterday included the blonde. So that's 3572 + 10 = 3582
