My first recipe and potentially screwed?

I was trying to aim for a british standard pale ale here, and the reason I wasn't posting hops or anything else was because those were unrelated to my problem, but here goes: Yeast: Wyeast XL 1318 London ale III Hops: Challenger as a bittering hop. (60 minutes) Brewers gold as an aroma hop...

My first recipe and potentially screwed?

Hey there! This is a continuation from a dead thread from the recipe forum, and now is alittle peril'd! I'm currently waiting for my malt for my first brew; a pale ale. For my homecrafted recipe, it's 5 kilos pale ale malt, 1 kilo carahell and 0.5 kilo of wheat malt. Now, my problem is, is that...

    Brewing 101?

Okay, most of my questions has either been directly or indirectly answered, yay! I should've mentioned it, but my main brewing container is an unclear 25 liter (alittle more than 5 gallons) plastic bucket. I will stay off fruit acting as a primer untill I can get some equipment much later on to...

    Brewing 101?

First post besides my intro-thread, here we go! General small questions regarding brewing in general and some subtopics. How much does indirect lighting affect a brew? My "fermentation chamber" is lighted up during the day, but never hit by actual, direct sunlight. That's why I am...

    From across the pond!

Danish newbie brewer here signing in! My name is Asbjørn, but if in a pinch, forget it. :P I'm 17 (yes, it's legal for me to brew! :rockin:), and I am currently studying high-level chemistry and math, eventually going to a brewers academy to become a master brewer. I'm in the learning stage...
