    Suggestion/advice for friends beer

Schol-R-LEA, Thanks for your awesome post. I definitely think a saison is a good summertime event beer. I'll have to do some research tonight on the Saison Dupont. I'm not sure how many of my friends and family have had one before but that may be a good thing. Thanks again for the post.

    Suggestion/advice for friends beer

Making a trip shortly to the beverage center to find a few commercial Belgian Pale Ales to see if that style would be something that my friends would enjoy. Any suggestions on what I should pick up or stay away from?

    Suggestion/advice for friends beer

I'm not really sure about a specific style that I would prefer to brew but I think a beer that is on the lighter side (color), bitterness/hop flavor comparable to a pale ale, some malt character to compliment but not dominate, with mid gravity (5%abv), and a subtle Belgian yeast flavor is what I...

    Suggestion/advice for friends beer

I haven't read that Blue Moon thread but I have read that it isn't a Belgian. I was just using this as an example of what some of my friends like to drink. A big reason why I started this thread is because I do not drink the same kinds of beer that they enjoy but do want to be able to brew one...

Thanks Cyclman, That yeast strain is available at my LHBS so I'll probably use that. I appreciate the input.

    Suggestion/advice for friends beer

Hi all, Wasn't sure where to post this but figured I'd just take a shot and go with it; Several of my friends and family members have expressed to me that they would like a certain style of beer that I am have yet to brew for our 4th of July party. (I know it is months away but I figured...

    Are hipsters ruining craft beer?

Just had to say thanks for the OP because that video made me laugh pretty hard. As for the hipster comments...its all in good fun. Just like the remarks about the country music. Thanks again for the OP and video

    Bottle Conditioning Temperature

With your room temperature being on the low side it will definitely take longer for your bottles to carbonate. Since it is difficult to say what temperature the bottles are actually conditioning at I would wait a minimum of three weeks before I place a bottle in the fridge for 48 hours and then...

    Bottle Conditioning Temperature

20-21C is ideal but its OK if you can't let it condition at the temperature. About 3 weeks around a similar temp and it should be good to taste test. The lower the temperature the longer it will take to carbonate and condition properly. What temperature is it currently? Even at 64-65F I would...

    Bottled 1st brew today

At least let it sit 3 weeks so it can carbonate properly. Then place it in a fridge for 48 hours minimum and then try it! If you like it place a few more in the fridge, if not, then let it sit for another week and repeat the fridge process. Enjoy!

    Bottle Conditioning Temperature

Store them around 70 degrees in a closet or someplace away from light. Let them sit 3 weeks from bottling. Then place a bottle or two in the fridge for 48+ hours and pour into a glass leaving the sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Whats the recipe/style? Enjoy and keep us updated!!!

    BIAB with my GF

Have you brewed a Torpedo clone? Is that a common issue for this clone recipe? Everything that I have read and researched only uses two row and crystal/caramel 60. The only issues that I have read about for this recipe and not getting enough of the hop flavor/aroma that the commercial SN Torpedo...

    BIAB with my GF

This was actually my first attempt at the SN Torpedo clone. I'm interested to see how it turns out especially because its the highest gravity and highest ibu recipe that I have brewed to date. I chose to follow the recipe fairly close but will probably change the late hop additions to a world...

    BIAB with my GF

5g of a SN Torpedo clone is happily bubbling away after a BIAB style brew day with my girl friend. We followed this recipe: Sierra Nevada Torpedo Clone 5 Gallon Batch 7.5g Water 90 minute boil 14 lbs of pale malt 11 ounces of caramel 60 Mash at 152 1.2 ounces of magnum at 60...

    Slow Carbonation

Patience is a virtue. Definitely wait another 2 weeks. It will be perfectly carbonated. What did you brew? How did it taste?

    Oatmeal Stout Yooper's Oatmeal Stout

Duncan83865, I have been lucky enough to not need to play around with the pH of my water. I brewed this beer a few months ago and it is amazing. No noticeable off flavors and I mashed all of the grains in the recipe together at the same time. If you are currently brewing without tinkering with...
