    Joe's Ancient Orange Mead

This sounds delicious! I'm going to add blueberries the next time I do this along with sweet mead yeast!

    blue and blackberry mead

Thanks for the reply Dan. I've learned a lot in the last couple of months and will probably just stick to blue/black and leave out the cherries :)

    Hello from IL!

Yes I'm a metal head (I like all music, but metal is my favorite). I lived in Springfield for a bit myself. Plenty of corruption to go around :)

Raspberry Melamel (Bronze Medal winner at 2010 Great Arizona Homebrew Competition)

So far so good. I'm about 3 days in and every time I stir this it smells amazing. I've been adding some nutrient/energize and will for a few more days as needed then it's time to tuck it away for a few weeks. I'm already thinking of what to start next!!! I now know why I see pics of folks...

    How did you find us?

I was looking for a mead recipe and found other 'home brew' sites, but this one was the most complete and easy to use. I poked around the message board and was impressed by how helpful most of the folks were (not a lot of snobs that you typically run into where I am from).

    Hello from IL!

I'm new to brewing but I'm diving in head first. I found a complete brew kit for $100 from someone who gave up and I'm hooked! I've only brewed a few batches so far as I'm trying to get the nuances down and I'm starting to make mead as well. Looking forward to learning more and experimenting!!!

    Welcome Beginning Brewers!

I'm a new home brewer and new to this forum and have a question that probably isn't answerable, but just an observation. I brewed my first batch of beer using an extract kit, just bottled another and plan to start my first batch of mead tonight. When drinking your first batch of beer, how do...

Does anyone have a good earl grey mead recipe!

I saw a recipe in the mead recipe section of this board that has EG tea in it. Not sure if that's what you're after but it's near the top from someone in AZ I think.

Raspberry Melamel (Bronze Medal winner at 2010 Great Arizona Homebrew Competition)

I'm going to try this as my first mead. Aging it in bottles for a year will test my patience :)

Brewing on an electric stove top?

So does the temp matter only or should it be a rolling boil? I've always wondered what the different is.

Brewing on an electric stove top?

I can't get a rolling boil on my electric stove. I can get the temperature to where it's needed to make beer, but just doesn't feel the same without a rolling boil.

    What are you drinking now?

Phase Three Crome. Just the right amount of sweetness
