Just an update. This is a delicious NE DIPA. Cheap too as the pliny pack costs $15.99. This is the finish product :)

minimizing oxydation for multiple dry hops

A little update. I kegged yesterday and no signs of infections. I wasn't too worried about it. I used a plastic bottle complete sanitized with starsan and I squeezed all air out after filling it with wart, so it was basically sealed in a vacuum. The one thing I noticed, this is the haziest beer...

    Using grape juice in wort?

Trillium Dialed in is an IPA that uses Sauvignon Blanc Juice. I have attempted a clone before and it worked well with 1 quart of grape juice

minimizing oxydation for multiple dry hops

Just an idea I had and I am not sure it will work but I figured it was worth the try. I saved a quart of the wort as it came to a boil and instead of adding my corn sugar to the boil like normal, I dissolved it in the saved wort. I saved it in the fridge, and added it to the fermenter on day 5...

Water chemistry is the area I have the most to learn. This is the most I have tampered with my water. This is my water profile and I added 2.5g gypsum and 3g cal. Chloride. I am hoping it won't be too mineraly

From my calculations this will be about 45 IBU. I have already brewed it, its fermenting right now but for sure next time ill try out flaked oats. Only reason I went with flaked wheat is because I have had success with it in the past.

OG came in at 1.066 but I have yet to add the dextrose which will put me at 1.073 right on the money. I have been wanting to play around with minimizing oxidation during dry hopping so I saved a quart of wort and dissolved the dextrose and put it in the fridge. Ill add it a day or two before the...

Trillium Dialed in clone recipe critique

I want to add that I had 1 extra gallon that ended up going in to a 1 gallon glass jug. No grape juice went in this one, and the only dry hop I added was 1.5 oz of galaxy and was bottle primed. It is delicious. I think it is better than the grape juice one. Much better nose and fruitiness. In...

Trillium Dialed in clone recipe critique

Very happy how this one turned out. I kegged it yesterday and had the first pour. The yeast performed amazing. Pours like a grapefruit mimosa. Can't taste much of grape surprisingly, you wouldn't know I added 2L of grape juice if I didn't mention it. It is extremely juicy tasting with notes of...

Trillium Dialed in clone recipe critique

about to brew this again for a competition. I feel like I got a pretty good handle on this recipe but critiques are welcomed. This is what I plan on doing. Only difference it is an all organic competition so I am switching Galaxy for a mix of Rakau and Citra 6 gallon batch 12lbs German...

    Pineapple saison

easiest and cheapest way is to add crushed canned pineapple to secondary. I've had great success doing it this way with a 60 minute addition of golding. I have mix fermentation saison in the fermenter that I will be dry hopping with Citra

First East Coast IPA recipe - thoughts?

I would aim for a lower SRM as well as FG (1.1- 1.012). Mashing lower at 150-152 should get you there. Dry hopping a little longer might be good too. I would leave the first dry hop charge in for 5 days remove it then add the second dry hop for another 3 days. I haven't experimented with keg...
