    Newb to Kegging?

Cool. Yeah that's what I have and it is inside my chest freezer. My SP for my Johnson controller is at 40 degrees right now. Do you know how much a typical full tank should weigh?

    Newb to Kegging?

I guess I shouldn't have used the pressure. The C02 level of my 5lb tank, the needle dropped down a lot. It dropped from being basically full to 3/4 as I was pouring the first beer of the keg. Does that make more sense?

    Newb to Kegging?

The beer came out perfectly and everything looks fine. Needed a bit more carbonation. It dropped a lot enough at one time for me to notice the needle drop out of the corner of my eye. I don't have the exact number. It's like im releasing the pressure at the same rate I dispensed the beer...

    Newb to Kegging?

I kegged for the first time about 5 days ago and did my own version of carbonation which was about 15psi for the first 3-4 days at 50 degrees and the last two days at around 9psi at serving temp. When I dispensed my first beer the pressure in my tank seemed to drop dramatically. My setup...

    First All-Grain Recipe ?'s

Thanks for the quick reply. What does oversparge mean to the beer and how will that negatively effect it?

    First All-Grain Recipe ?'s

This past weekend I brewed my first all-grain batch. The recipe was called "St. James Dry Stout". Everything went pretty smoothly with the exception of a few things. I believe I mashed and sparged a bit too hot as I didn't realize how well my new mashtun(igloo 10 gallon) and HLT(5 gallon...

    Wilmington NC beer destinations

I lived in Wilmington for 6 years and Cape Fear Wine & Beer is my go to for awesome brews. They always have cool stuff on staff and everything in bottles you can imagine. I always find a bunch of new beers i've never had there. It's got a rockabilly vibe there but everyone is really chill...

    New Kettle Defects

I just tried buffing with a 310 scuffing paper and it took it out. I also was able to bend the lid edge back into place even though I will probably never really use the lid. Anyway, thanks for your replies. It helped.

    New Kettle Defects

I bought it from Spike. They pretty much only deal in kettles. Tig welded Ports for accessories are great, 1mm thick. Seems like a great pot minus the shotty shipping which I'm sure is partly the shippers fault. I'll try the buffing thing. Thanks for that. I paid right at 200 with free...

    New Kettle Defects

I received my new 10 gallon SS kettle in the mail today. The shipping sucked of course and my pot was scratched, lid had a small dent, and the handles were hanging out of the box but none of those concern me that badly. What does concern me is the worn away spot on the inside bottom edge of the...
