I agree with the BJCP route. Not only does it do a great job of explaining a beer style, but it has comments, the history of the style, a comparison with similar styles, and commercial examples of each style.

Hunting season is nigh, and my dad just drew a Moose tag, I could give one of these a pretty rigorous test. Sign me up!
