Ennis is north of Quake Lake. The only river there would be the Madison. That area is my hunting grounds. Edit: It looked familiar at first, but I couldn't put my finger on it. But that looks like it's the shelf along the the Madison near the rest stop, just north of Cliff and Wade lakes

This looks like it's the same general (very general) area as Quake Lake. Idaho?

Quake Lake is right! In 1959 an earthquake (7.5 on the Richter) caused the entire north side of the mountain to come crashing down into the valley, damming up the river and creating that lake. 28 people lost their lives that night.

Spirit Lake is closest, but not the correct state. All guesses have been too far west.
