    BIAB Basket Rack Weight

That makes me feel better! Sounds like a done deal for me! :) If it last me for 6 months, it'll be perfect.

    BIAB Basket Rack Weight

It'll be inside a stainless steel basket, so it's really just the weight that I'm worried about.

    BIAB Basket Rack Weight

I will soon be finished with my eBIAB setup using a 62qt Bayou Classic Steamer Pot with basket. There's not enough money in my budget to get a brew stand and hoist and since I live in an apartment with no garage, I have to good place to add a pulley. So, my plan until I save enough for the brew...

240v 5500w eBIAB planning, please help!

Thanks P-J! I think I have my parts list finished for this build, with the exception of the enclosure! YAY!

240v 5500w eBIAB planning, please help!

Thank you so much P-J! This is really awesome! Just a single question: the diagram has a second contactor that looks to be 240V 50A? I can't seem to find one over 40A on the Auber website, the closest I can find is this...

    Off-dry Blackberry Mead Help!

I wouldn't worry about hitting the 12.5% ABV exactly. The mead is 12.5% +/- 1.5% so 11 - 14% ABV. The meadery uses the same amounts of base mead and fruit with every batch, but the fruit sugar content isn't completely consistent from batch to batch. By law they have to be +/- 1.5% so putting...

240v 5500w eBIAB planning, please help!

Thanks P-J, that would be fantastic! Final plan: Recirculating electric BIAB system for brewing 5-10 gallon beer (depending on gravity). As I live in an apartment and will be for the next foreseeable future, I need to build a system that can brew on a balcony (no propane). Power will come from...

    North Carolina Brewers?

My neighbors always look at me like I'm crazy when carrying empty bottles INTO my place! :ban:

240v 5500w eBIAB planning, please help!

Decided I really like Broham's build with the alarm buzzer, so I'm changing the wiring diagram to this (although, still using the turn key for power): and adding these 2 parts: Auber - Flashing Buzzer - 22mm Auber - Buzzer Selector Switch - 22mm And I found a picture (in one of Broham's...

    North Carolina Brewers?

Of course they do, but beer has to be completely clarified and is only allowed to be served in glasses with a 3" or smaller logo on a single side and only on every other weekday. :D

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Making a 5 gallon batch of my Sigtryggr's Legacy Vanilla Whiskey Stout. Last one I made was gone within a week from co-workers and friends...

Are these the right kind of fuses/fuse holders? Radio Shack - Inline Fused Holder Radio Shack - 1A Fast-acting Fuses Radio Shack - 10A Fast-acting Fuses Radio Shack - 1k-ohm, 1W resistors Radio Shack - 10awg Stranded Wire Or should I look for DIN mounted breakers?

North Carolina Bayou Classic SQ-14 (Brand NEW!) $45

I bought a Bayou Classic SQ-14, but have now decided that I will be going all electric instead. It's never been used, asking $45. I prefer local pick since it's quite heavy to ship. Specs, etc: http://www.bayouclassicstore.com/gascookers/SQ14.html

240v 5500w eBIAB planning, please help!

@Broham1 - Done and done. Thanks for the heads up on the RTD cable. @pidass - I've decided to basically copy Kal's part list and assemble my own heating element instead. Am I missing anything from my parts list? Will the key switch work and connect the same way as the illuminated buttons?

Ah, I see what you mean now, can't believe I missed that! :D Yeah, I've been thinking about that. I'm going to ask around, somebody should have a drill press I can use! :)
