Recipe adjustment of my session IPA

Hi, Indeed, after some reading and another topic I already took the decision to just add 5% CaraPils. However I probably will mash a little higher, see what it gives. I will change the flameout hops to the whirlpool instead. Thanks! I will post the result in this topic.

    Increase body in light IPA

thehaze, thanks for the input. What is your grain bill for the session ipa? Also, how long do you boil? Miraculix, I will try the munich after I tested with flaked oats, wheat malt/carapils.

    Increase body in light IPA

Miraculix, I'm afraid that this will change the flavor too much. Do you have the name of the book?

Recipe adjustment of my session IPA

Hi, I currently use this recipe to create my session ipa of 4,3% abv (4% abv before bottling). Grain: 100% pale malt, mash at 66° celsius for 35 mins boil for 75 mins: Chinook 44 gr at 15 mins Chinook 133 gr at 55 mins Mandarina Bavaria 133 gr at 55 mins Chinook 88 gr at 70 mins Mandarina...

    Increase body in light IPA

So lets say, 87,5 pale, 10 wheat and 2,5 flaked oats?

    Increase body in light IPA

Allright, I definitely don't want the flavor to change much. Crystal malts are of the table then. My current attenuation is around 72%. For my new brew I'm aiming at 3,6% abv. (Assuming the priming sugar will add 0,3 I will land on 3,9% abv) When you mean 3-10%, do you mean as the total of...

    Increase body in light IPA

Hi, I now use 100% pale malt for my IPA that has 4,5% abv. I want to increase the body and maybe even lower the abv a little bit to 3,9%. Things I'm considering: - Increase mash temp from 66° celsius to 69° celsius. (I single mash for 35 mins). - Change the malt bill: --maybe i can...

    Dryhop experiments

Thanks for the tips, I'm from Belgium however and I don't have Bud light available haha :D For the Mandarina Bavaria, during the boil I add 133 gr in the middle and 300 in the last 5 minutes (in a 60L batch). They are very noticeable. But for the dryhop I need to use more than 75 gr? Until now...

    Dryhop experiments

Hi, I'm brewing a low alc. IPA with around 100 ibu and 4,5 abv. The hops that I use now are Chinook for bittering, flavor, aroma & dryhop. Mandarina Bavaria only for flavor & aroma. I'm now on the quest the find the perfect dryhop for this beer. For now I have come up with the...

Malt efficiency turned out higher than expected

No, I'm sorry if it wasn't clear: - batch nr. 1 no sparge: didn't add water - batch nr. 2 with sparge: had to add water

Malt efficiency turned out higher than expected

Hi, Yesterday I brewed an IPA that typically has a abv of 4,5% after bottling. I first heated 95 liters water to 67° degrees celsius and then I took some of the water (25 liter) to use later in the sparge. Then I added 12,35 kg's of pale malt to the water. I mashed 35 mins in water of...
