    Keg cooler/fermentation chamber

Thanks I'll have to bookmark that page. I'm already thinking about compartmentalizing the chamber to allow for a temperature gradient. Richard

    Keg cooler/fermentation chamber

Quick question regarding serving temp. What is a good general purpose serving temp for beer To rephrase what temp range should i be aiming for.

    Keg cooler/fermentation chamber

I recently got myself set up for kegging. The only thing missing was a refrigeration unit. my original plan was to build a keezer. But after a month of watching the classifieds and not finding what I was looking for I was starting to get impatient. I had read several "under the workbench"...

    Keg Parts For sale -Canada-

Neither had I a few of them say Firestone on them. I find that they fit tighter than the metal lids I have. I have one keg with a ding in the lip that will not seal with a metal lid but seals no problem with one of the plastic lids. RIchard

Equipment for moving to AG brewing

I have a keg to use as a keggle! It is an old keg with a wooded bung (pic to follow) there is also a hole punched in it near the bottom. I also found that I have a 240v hot-water tank element in my shop, So I am thinking of making an electric keggle. I cut the top off Last night with a...

    Cornies for barter

I have a number of corny kegs left, there has been plenty of interest in them but so far not many have sold. The purpose for me selling them is not to make money but to fund my brewing. As I am looking to move to an all grain set up with a 10 gal capacity I am willing to consider trades as...

    Ball lock keg in Canada

I am trying to put together an all grain setup So I would be willing to consider trades as well as cash. Thing I need are: Mash tun (large enough to do 10 gal batches) Manifold HWT Kettle/keggle Boiler And likely more that I am not thinking of. Richard

Newb alert! Dumb keg question inside!

I fixed my problem! What was happening was the lip at the top of the dip tube was bent so I was not getting a good seal. So when I pored I was getting a mixture of gas and and liquid. This caused turbulance which created foam. I fixed it by pulling the dip tube (after releasing the pressure)...

Equipment for moving to AG brewing

I am planing to either use a braided stainless steel water line , or making one out of some copper pipe I have left over from some renos. I will look to see what other coolers are are around. I'm going to see about hitting a flea market this weekend and see if I can find anything I can use...

Equipment for moving to AG brewing

According to this the cooler should be big enough for 10 gallons as it is 48 qts As for using the Turkey fryer as a HWT. It holds 7.5 Gallons that should be close to the amount I need for the strike water in a 10 gallon batch. I then plan to heat the sparge water while i am mashing. I...

    Keg Parts For sale -Canada-

I'm not sure what the proper name is but they are the part that is connected directly to the keg, they are not an adapter. The o-ring part of that adaptor looks like it replaces the diptube and diptube o-ring. If someone is handy at brazing they could add a corny post to anything. Richard

I am looking to move to AG from kit/extract brewing. The plan is to get myself set up so that I can do an 10 gallon batch. My to buy list so far is Kettle (how big? 15 gal? keggle?) - $$$? Propane Burner (how many BTU?) - $$$? Cooler for mashing (will this be big enough?) - approx $30 I...
