How easy is it to recondition kegs for a noob? I haven't seen cornies in action so is it worth the extra money to get the reconditioned kegs vs just buying gaskets and whatever else is needed to recondition?

I live in Santa Barbara, CA so every grocery store is pretty stocked with Firestone of all types. Even better, a brewpub just opened within walking distance of my house this month, but I've only gotten to go there once.

Also start checking places like craigslist regularly. I got a 20 pound CO2 tank and regulator (as well as a fridge and sanke tap) for free off there. Fridges or freezers are also cheap if you wait for the right one to come along.

I'm still pretty new, but I've found the best thing for bottling is to get a friend to help. Much quicker as a two person job (we do one person filling and one capping and boxing). Batch will yield one less six pack as payment, but worth it.

I couldn't track down a corker, so I put some in screw-top wine bottles and the rest in beer bottles. A bunch of it has already found new homes and the carboy is nice and clean now! (PBW is amazing)
