I would have to disagree. i routinely get 84.5% on my batches. I'm also adjusting the hydrometer readings to the wort temp. crushing my own grains, fly sparging, etc... But then again you said 85%, so perhaps i'm doing everything the best i possibly can.

Just got an unexpected call from Label Peelers. And i'm sure others will as well.. Basically the issue is with the Leaf Amarillo hops. Hop Union decided to pelitize the entire lot of them. So if you ordered leaf you will be stuck with a decision.. to refund or to swap over to pellets, or...

Bottled the Hop Head double IPA, and moved the Big Chief IPA into cold crashing.

Got my shipment notification from makingbeerisfun last night also.. I am curious though because I had ordered a total of 4lbs of hops, and the shipment notification said the package was 1lb.

Hopefully that means we will see ours soon.. However you only ordered Simcoe which might be the contributing factor here.. I ordered 2lbs of Citra and 2lbs of Amarillo.

Still showing as pre-ordered for me, but I didn't order until 10/22. Got plenty of other hops to play around with for the time being.. Just not a fan of having orders sit in limbo, more of an instant gratification kinda guy. but the wait will be worth it.

I would have to agree, recently made a pumpkin with 4 cans of pumpkin puree, there was an insane amount of trub. The stank from dumping the trub was evil, but looking forward to opening them up soon..
