    First All Grain Disaster (storytime)

it happens, the good thing is you will have beer. delicious drinkable beer. Except this will be a session beer. might not be the one you wanted to make, maybe it's the one you should be making :) The bulkhead pulling out is the part that scares me. That should not happen. self built...

    Gotta sanitize the Skittles?

okay, brewed on the 18th (2 gallon batch) with an OG of 1.063 and an estimated FG with wb06 of 1.009 (hit 85% efficiency) for 7% before vodka and skittles. Added the skittles/vodka on the 25th i'll take a brix reading tomorrow morning and if it's at .009 good, if not, i'll measure it sunday...

    Gotta sanitize the Skittles?

for the record, the skittles, including the white center, was completely dissolved in the vodka before adding to the fermenter. The green are not lime, but are green apple. The beer is actually going to be bottled tomorrow with carbonation drops, and hope for the best. I agree, thinking...

help for mini fridge to kegerator conver

Truth. sometimes it's even better just to buy the kegerator complete. I paid nothing for my fridge, still have 170 + in hardware (not counting tank and kegs) for a 2 keg system.

    flat beer... 32oz bottles

I think 2 would be perfect with little to no risk. I don't think that .5 is going to offer any added benefit.

    flat beer... 32oz bottles

brewers best is 1 for 12oz 2 for 22, for 32 maybe 2.5? that said, I used 1 for a 16oz bottle and it was fine, so i would figure 2 would be just fine for a 32 oz.

help for mini fridge to kegerator conver

because in that freezer is where the coils are, and they are covered in plastic, (which is weird). you can try to cut the plastic away from the coils, good luck with that.

    Intertap beer faucets

It was very confusing, I can tell you that. Let me know the quality of those units when you get them!

    Fermentation heater

Will the cooler be in the wind? if not, wind chill does not matter. depends on how insulated it is. if it's a soda machine, yes, that would be enough to keep it from freezing and could easily bring it up into the 50's or 60's. those are insulated amazingly well. If it's the glass front...

    Intertap beer faucets

I always get the right stuff from Ali. I prefer epacket. I buy from my lhbs when I can, and us suppliers when I can, but sometimes the prices are just to good to pass up. What's confusing is one day shoes arrived. From China. I never ordered shoes, nobody contacted, the fit my daughter...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Do it. Drink it fast. What hop combo are you thinking? Cashmere and mosiac? Galaxy and citra? Idaho7 and Amarillo?

Thermometer in a BK - why?

    Mango ipa

That citra is going to power over the comet in my opinion, but that hop timing looks good.

    oakwoodbarrels.com and dirtcheapbarrels.com

lol, WHERE ARE MY BARRELS "I am trying to issue a refund, not seeing a payment" not worth bashing a company like you did. Pay them, then don't get your barrels, okay, now you have a reason to call scam.

    Intertap beer faucets

After seeing them around, having friends with them, I did try order and install one (just ordered a brass one from williams brewing) and I am happy with it. I will replace mine with the stainless ones by the end of summer. It pours nice! I have it on my ESB, 9 psi, 5 ft line, no issues at all.

Plagued with off flavors need ideas

all grain or extract (was that stated?) when was the last time you soaked your bottling bucket spigot in pbw (not star san, a cleaner). when was the last time you cleaned or replaced your bottling wand, hose, etc. everything that comes in contact with the beer after fermentation.

    Using a generator

I know somethings about generators. 240 V 30 Amp is quite common now and easy to find. As cheap as $249 from home depot for a 3500/4000 watt generator (sportsman) that is propane or gasoline. But depending on what wattage you need, the price steps up quickly. Harbor freights Predator's are...

    Gotta sanitize the Skittles?

I was basically using it as an excuse to make Skittle vodka before dumping it into the fermenter. Btw, Skittle vodka is good.
