    So who's brewing this weekend?

    Cats

we watched ours run a flock of geese off the neighbors yard, until we saw one was not backing off. That's when I tore out of the hose to save him, because he was about to be taught a lesson. That said, Gary (one of my three) also went to the vet today for $160 because a bite on his head......

Single IPA hop you can't live without

a hop that is in a lot of my ipa's, Denali I like how it brings everything together and is used in many of my ipa's. (not my favorite hop). but for an IPA with only a Single hop IPA, Galaxy would be my favorite.

Question about alcohol and brewing time - pregnancy

I think you have the numbers mixed up! If the unfermented is 1.04(0) and the final bottled product was reading 1.06(0) then the abv is -2.63% (0) if you are not mixing it up, when you add sugar, the gravity just goes up...

    Cats

Lefou, I agree with you completely, these are the first cats of mine that go outside (unsupervised) Sometimes they do not come home at night, when the weather is nice they miss last call, last last call and the "I'm up to pee at 1am" call. This all started because we have a nice 12 x 25...

    Temp Controller Overview

This is a very good write up. I recommend using a RIB (Relay in a Box) when using an STC-1000 or the inkbird version ITC-1000. When using a RIB, the temperature controller never get's the startup amp draw of the compressor, and the actual load is very very very low... no matter how many amps...

Temp Controller: Anyone ever use this one?

    Dead Ringer Mango?

i recently did an Apricot on centennial, (used two hearted as a base basically, altered the northern brewer hop schedule) and it's drinkable. some like, some hate, I just drink it once in awhile.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Will do, currently fermenting. i used about 1 oz as FHP, about 2 at 20, about 2 at flame out, about 2 at whirlpool, and tossed 1 with yeast (not expecting that to do much.). I'll be dry hopping it on oct 10th and bottling the 14th. So should have a first sip on the 18th - 20th. :)
  15. kristiismean

    What's in your fermenter(s)?

I've got a comet IPA (5.5% est) that has 8 oz of hops already, going to dry hop with another 8. I got a good deal on the hops, so trying to get the grapefruit overload.
  16. kristiismean

    What are you drinking now?

    Decent

Bottling 2 batches of IPA tonight

This is where the bottle trees, or my favorite fast racks come into play. Along with the vitner thing that you press the bottles down and it spray inside. Makes sanitizing 4 cases a 30 minute task.

    Hop Extracts

Not anymore. Do you know what hop? I use centennial hop oil and citra hop oil all the time at flameout and whirlpool. Maybe try a different variety? I have also added the hop oil to vodka, holy crap it makes a good kicker. (Drop a shot of it in a beer.)
