    What did I build today

I think a lot of brewers are also builders of things. I know when you've built a thing, whether a bathroom in your house, a trellis for your tomatoes, a ceiling structure for holding wood, etc. You're proud and want to show it off, and maybe share with others who might benefit. So here's my...

Sorry, I have to provide the background music to this thread. I'm a GIANT oldies fan (40s 50s).

Yep, me too. Turns out, Neil is 75% astrophysisist, 25% political looking for any sort of payday. I don't blame him. I could name a bunch of other similars.

No, the math has problems. So a fudge factor was applied. Fudge = dark matter. Neil de Grasse Tyson agrees, if you know him.

For anyone who really gets interested... Ignore the dwarf scopes, for now The S30 from the same company has a smaller viewing angle, better sensor, some additional features... but don't do it. Get the S50 Celestron makes a much better digital scope, the Origin. It's way more $$. I'd...

If you're a complete knurd and have been regretting never getting a telescope... this is the thing for you. I don't have one (yet, believe me, it's on its way). Just buy. It's $450 on amazon. I do have a big phat telescope now, but this thing can easily do 95% better what I can do with mine.

lol. but in reality, dark matter was a fudge factor to make the math work. i wonder how many of those sort of jumps have been done to make the math work.

What are you listening to (music!!!) right now? Embarrassing or not... share

This guy is in the "who died in 2024" list. If you can't hear Rachmaninoff's 2nd piano concerto in it, well you don't know Rachmaninoff. Eric Carmen was a terrific talent.

Here's Ode to Joy, fourth mvmt from that symphony, but you have to have a keen ear (and vivid imagination). Wait till 1:30, you'll hear it ... "Jealously, turning to 9th symphony"

@bernardsmith how are you. Have you been making any cheese? Don't worry about being off topic here, nobody reads the cheese threads.

    Learning the hard way

I'm lucky, I can get raw goat and cow milk. That is gonna make your life better. Organic is likely the worst for your purposes... organic products move more slowly off the shelf, so they get MUCH harsher treatment in pastuerization. You're better off with Walmart whole. You can buy "cream on...

I like this time at night on HBT

Every new year, I tell myself I'll be a better person. For the record, I'm not a good person, somewhere between awful and ignorable. But I do aspire to be better. And I perennially am sorry for what I did in the past. For all my faults, I'm really truly apologetic - if I wronged or offended...

Why I Like Home Brew Town

Home Brew Town celebrates 2024. Goals achieved, some shifted to the next year. Our townfolk brace against the cold, knowing it will pass. Without the bitter, the sweet would not taste as sweet. The sting of the cold pushes us into warm spaces, and that's where we find our loved ones. HBT...
