My three favorite plants in no particle order are: Barley, hops, and tobacco. Tonight I had a "salad" of all three and it was great. I hope you all have a great thanksgiving, mine couldn't have been better.

I honestly was a little sad to hear about CVS dumping tobacco products because it's just about the only chain store where I could reliably find decent pipe tobacco.

That's right, chlorine and chloramine are different beasts. Chlorine will evaporate off. Chloramine requires treatment with a Camden tablet or a charcoal filter.

There's a series about being high gravity beers on Brew Strong where John Palmer and Jamil talk about that. I don't remember all the details but they said it's not possible to extract above a certain gravity without diluting your wort.

That's too bad LG. I got real lucky with my kegging setup, I got three corny kegs off craigslist for a hundred bucks and a co-worker sold me a mini fridge kegerator for two-fifty. After the conversion kit I'm still only into it three hundred and eighty dollars. Of course it only has one tap but...

Smell them. If they still smell hoppy then I'd use them soon. Keep them in the freezer and if they start to smell cheesy throw them out.

I was using us-05 but it was from a penis batch and had been in the fridge a couple months, lesson learned I need to make a starter.

LG whenever I'm sick with something I make tea with lemon juice, honey, and a shot of whiskey. It helps me fall asleep and be less miserable and I haven't noticed any ill effects. Just my two cents but alcohol has often been used medicinaly historically.
