I do too...priming sugar and zero probs...I keep some drops for leftovers doing a metric batch of 23 litres and kegging 18.9 litres...both worked admirably...but I bulk prime my cider with no issues...
Looks like a great deal! I've always been curious but went the Grainfather route...the Zymatic would be in my sights if it could cook at least 5 gallons at a time...
I've used Muntons drops in 22 oz bombers adding 3,4, and 5 drops and they worked fine. Can't see BB being a lot different as they're dry malt extract based...I'd say you've got a time/temp issue...couple weeks at room temp always worked for me...your FG is 1010... give it temp or time...
I'd fill it up to eliminate as much headspace as possible - just below gas in tube - and Chill it...then hammer it with gas next day three or four times to purge - fill purge three times to push out air...you should be ok but don't put it off - barring that fill a carboy and gas when you've got it.
I've got a 1000W heatstick to turbo heat mine...works well but never had to use it...if you have the newer grainfather you likely know you can program it to start earlier...
There is much truth to what you say...all grain...precooked - but not mine - lured me into an expensive but rewarding hobby as I struggle to reach beervana.
Killer...I've got the same gear and some really nice stainless cabinets and tables to work with...just have to get my poop in a group as you did to pull it together...way to go bro!
Are you using the Connect controller because if you are, it's a lard thundering jayzus b'y, I'm pissed! And on a serious note my east coast brother - I will check...
That's unfortunate about Everwood. I've dealt with both OBK and Everwood while living in Ontario and NS and didn't have issues with either. I just found Everwood to be more responsive and helpful overall.
