    Full Hard Lemonade recipe

I'm in the process of bottling my batch this morning. After adding the extra water with the backsweeteners and potassium sorbate, it came close to overflowing a 6.5 gallon bottling bucket. All I could think was, "This better be good, because that is a LOT of hard lemonade." I hit a final...

    First Bottling Attemps

Exactly. Don't bother with the little table, just lift the bottles up onto the wand.

    First Bottling Attemps

Unless you prefer having a longer tube, it only needs to be a couple of inches long. Just long enough to attach the wand to the bucket. I put my bottling bucket on the kitchen counter, and sit on a stool. I'm 6'1".

What got everyone into Homebrewing initially?

I thought about it, off and on, for years before I decided to jump in. It always seemed like my kind of hobby, just sitting around, doing absolutely nothing for two or three weeks at a time.

    Brewers best?

Brewer's Best makes some good kits. I also wouldn't hesitate to order from Northern Brewer, or Midwest Supply. They're owned by the same company.

I made a batch this afternoon. For the wife, you know.

    First partial extract

I mostly do extract kits, myself, and the Northern Brewer kits are top notch. The Chinook IPA kit uses steeping grains. The five-gallon kits steep for 20 minutes, so it won't hurt anything to steep that long if you'd like. The best advice I ever found on this forum was, "It's not rocket...

    Odd question

I'll toss in another vote for a cream ale. It's not one of my favorites, but here in Wisconsin a brew called Spotted Cow is the unofficial state drink. It's a rather bland, unoffensive cream ale, with no hops to speak of. Since it goes down like water, most non-craft drinkers, including my...

    Help me name my beer

I made one of those Brewer's Best kits, the English Brown Ale. Unfortunately, they put the wrong instruction sheet in the box, and I followed the hop addition times for an English Pale Ale. Since the hops and the quantities were the same, only the timing was different, I didn't even notice...

    Hello from WI

Welcome from Lake Mills, WI. I just joined as well, after lurking for a few months. There's a lot to learn here. More than I'll ever need to know.

What came in the mail for you today?

Big spender here. I got a three pack of new airlocks.

    Hail, and well met

And this. This is the reason I joined the forum. I've been reading for a few months now, and I haven't found a question on here that hasn't been answered by all of you fine folks. Thanks.

    Hail, and well met

Is this the place to make a confession? Kind of like sitting around in a circle, avoiding eye contact as we all share our innermost feelings? I'm from Wisconsin, and I don't really like Spotted Cow. I mean, I really enjoy other brews from New Glarus. Fat Squirrel is a go to, and their...
