The finished product. Stainless steel hinges and bolts all purchased from Westmarine. Noticed just recently that the dip tube does not reach the center of the keg. In order for the tube to go down through the hole on the false bottom, it has to be just barely resting on the compression...

    Help with DIY false bottom

I am in the process of converting a keg into a mash tun. I have been driving myself crazy looking for a sheet of perforated stainless steel that I can use. Everything I have found is either sold in bulk or is insanely expensive. None of my local scrap metal places have had any, and I'm ready...

    Hinged False Bottom

I am having the hardest time finding scrap remnants of perforated stainless! I'm a huge fan of DIY projects and I want to make a false bottom myself. Any suggestions? Not super excited about drilling a million holes into the sheet metal that I already have. :)
