I use priming sugar in my kegs as well and have done so for a while now. Actually I use the same amount that I use when I bottle. One thing I noticed is after 3 weeks there's really a lot of CO2 in the keg but no good bubbles in the beer and no head retention. After 5 weeks it's just right...

I'd say the answer is relative to your definition of a better beer. Supposedly with the all grain approach you get more flexibility in crafting the flavor of the beer. Personally I do both and tend to mix the two to suppliment recipes. I don't think you have to do extract brews before...

Usually if you're still drunk at noon the next day the correct solution is to start drinkiing again. Then you can pass out early, sleep for 12-16 hours and wake up not quite so hungover.

I really wouldn't worry about it at all. Speaking from experience since I've done about 10 AG and about half of them in the beginning I fudged some aspect of the process. The beer I'm drinking now came in around 15 points under the OG and it's great.
