Little Sumpin' Sumpin' Clone - All Grain

Yea, I'm sure the combo of hop flavors might get a little closer, but for anyone intimidated by the number of varieties I'd urge you to give my recipe a shot. It's in denominations of hops that people usually buy, and it's only three varieties. Just IMHO

Little Sumpin' Sumpin' Clone - All Grain

I saw this recipe and I thought it might be a little complex. When I spoke to some people that worked for the brewery they had made it seem like there werent as many varieties of hops, but that could have just been to throw me off the trail. In any case, using the 3 hop varieties only might...

Little Sumpin' Sumpin' Clone - All Grain

So they did this back in Feb I guess, and when I was planning this recipe 3 months ago or so I couldnt find much. I went to go post my recipe today and stumbled upon this and said 'crap, im too late!' Didn't get a chance to listen to this yet, but I figured I'd post my recipe too.

Little Sumpin' Sumpin' Clone - All Grain

Sorry if the recipe is in a weird order, I copied it from beersmith and I noticed it came out a little weird....I used California Ale yeast by White Labs. I had saved some from a starter from a previous batch of another beer and made a 2L starter to make sure I'd get enough pitchable yeast. I...

Little Sumpin' Sumpin' Clone - All Grain

So I had been planning this clone for a while and when I was doing research, no one had quite come up with a clone for this (I heard things through the grapevine that there might be a clone that surfaced recently, but I'm posting mine anyway). The brewery was fairly tight lipped and I've seen...

You're saying "A" which is in/out of the page and "B" is 7/8" right? If that's true, then what you had in your shopping cart should work

    mash tun help

basically you need to make sure you measure your cooler as accurately as possible... that kit you're looking at says to make sure your diameter is less than 7/8" and that your cooler wall is less than 3/8-5/8" If its thinner than 3/8" then look at this make sure you get a valve for the...

What diameter is that hole? 1/2" pipe has an outside diameter of .84"; 3/4" pipe has an outside diameter of 1.05". I think most people use 1/2" nipples, but I could be wrong... http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/ansi-stainless-steel-pipes-d_247.html I'd do something like this (Skip down...

    2013 Hop garden photo thread

Got my first rhizomes ever today... I'm in medical school, so I planted them in pots over by a community garden we have on campus. Put them in pots so I can move them easier when I move away. We'll see how they go. I'm gonna put some cross bars on the main part of the trellis so I can let...

    Starting a cabinet-erator Project

I think you should consider some kind of cabinet catches, like this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006I0NSK/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 Or http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002BY9JT6/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 To make sure the door is pulled tight. Was that your plan?

    Installing a PID

Look into sketch up by Google. Its a free 3D rendering tool but you can draw things in 2D as well. It can print to scale so you can draw out the whole design, adjust as much as you want, then simply print, tape, and start cutting! Controls take some getting used to but I think its much simpler...

    Banana Bread Ale

Just brewed my first Banana Bread Dunkle (actually, first Dunkle in general). I used this recipe as a base, then modified the #'s a little to work with my equipment (Electric HERMS system with a cooler mash tun) and took some advice from "Designing Great Beers" by Daniels. Beer Smith attached...

    Differences between Relays

So I'm doing research for my hybrid, Kal-like, HERMS build and I was reading into the use of relays. I understand that by using a rotary switch and a relay, I can completely cut the power to either the whole unit (power switch relay) or the elements themselves (in case the SSR is trying to fire...
