Yeah the temp will get up to 180+ on 120v it just takes a bit longer. I filled mine up with 8 gallons and it was about an hour to get up to temp with a 1500w 120v element. I picked up my element from Home Depot Make sure you get a bit the right size and get as smooth as an opening you can...

I actually did this and run the HLT off of my BCS along with a RIMS, pump, for my mash tun cooler. You just have to check and recheck to make sure you have no leaks

I may be wrong but wet hops are fresh picked and bagged so they are still "wet" unlike most hops we use that are dried prior to use. You can get more oil from a wet hop and supposedly a different hop taste

Brewed mine last weekend few more days and I will start dry hopping.

So I brewed a Pliny clone and I have to say the hops were blocked but so was the wort. I can say due to the fact it was a huge hop load it worked well for the circumstances.I didn't get blockage until I got to the fine mesh, but the hop load was the culprit. I will have to try it on a regular...
