What causes harder or softer hangovers?

ok ok, so even if it is at a higher ferment temp, let it sit for an extra week or two before kegging? i.e. my saison might have cleaned up some of the fusels and not give me such a headache if i let it sit a week longer in primary? i was very excited to try it, i did a 3 week primary. it was...

What causes harder or softer hangovers?

6 or 7 AG batches under my belt. They are all fantastic. But some of them with less ABV will cause slightly harder hangovers than the others with more ABV. So as I am ever learning about the AG process and fine tuning every aspect from getting a bigger mash paddle and stirring more to...

    Star-san foam & yeast

absolutely not. star san is the best and will not hurt anything. dont even worry about trying to get the foam to dissapate. i believe i read on this site that the foam is actually fuel for yeast... you'll be fine :mug:

    Bell's Hopslam Kit

Bells Hopslam Recipe ::: Brew365 - Homebrewing Recipes and Articles 4# honey. i dont think you would get the same effect with corn sugar. hopslam is very syrupy and that must have something to do with 4# honey. I know honey is 95% fermentable, but come on, 4# in a 5gal batch? syrupy...

Low mash temp = low sparge temp?

hmm interesting.. It is from the great Bobby_M's Overbrook Brewery website and his No Mash Out Double Batch Sparge technique that suggests the 180 deg sparge water temp. The exact batch of Saison I did two weeknds ago, I ended up with 82% efficiency, which I am certainly happy with. I...

Low mash temp = low sparge temp?

Hey there 146 deg 90 min mash for a saison i am doing. Am I supposed to sparge with cooler water? or is 180 ok? I did the exact batch two weekends ago and racked to secondary today and it tasted fine. Just curious if you can fine tune with cooler sparge water is the mash temp is low...
