Pump trips gfci, but only when I turn it off?!?!

there may be an internal defect in the pump. a gfci does nothing more than monitor the current flow to ground. the pump when turning off, is shorting out causing the gfci to trip. ungrounding the pump is not good advice. did you recently purhase it?

    Keg Couplers for sale

I find we are least likely to get hit with customs/tariff charges with USPS, as once it crosses, it gets delivered via Canada Post.

    control box material

One issue that comes to mind is many door mounted components are designed to be mounted in several millimeter sheet metal, not something like 1/2" thk plywood. That could be remedied with some sort of thin panel in a cutout in the door. I wouldn't shy away from wood, its not a typical...

    Drilling for elements

I would be careful with this guys, a 1-3/8" hole is too large for the weldless mounting of 1" NPS elements. You will have issues sealing as the hole is basically 1/8" too large, no o'ring will work. I dont want to see anyone ruin a kettle. One way this would definitely work, is if you are...

    Quick disconnect placement

The female side also requires a bit more attention when it comes to cleaning. Having the female on the hose means you can just soak the ends. Cleaning would be more difficult with them fix mounted on the vessel.

    ProFlow Camlocks + thermoplastic tubing?

Yes those barbs will work with the thermoplastic hose (im using them as well). No clamps too.

    ProFlow Camlocks + thermoplastic tubing?

Yes. The tubing is not at all "stretchy". Keep in mind the OD of 1/2 MPT is apprx 3/4".. I would think if you ground down the pipe threads you might have a chance.

    ProFlow Camlocks + thermoplastic tubing?

Hi Ive done what your suggesting and ended up using barbs. I went in with the intention to stretch the tubing over the MPT of an elbow and it just wasnt possible. Thermoplastic tubing is just very ridgid.

    E-Herms as a chiller?

What are the specs on the herms coil? size? length? I have 1/2 x 50ft soft copper, i get 10 gallons down to 70 in about 20min. I dont use purchased ice, I just have a large closed jug I throw into the freezer and reuse it on brew days.. My water is also around 40-45 deg F so that helps as well

    E-Herms as a chiller?

Yes that is exactly what I do. Fill HLT with ice + water, then slowly fill/drain at a constant rate (static volume). A big plus for me over an IC is no sanitzation worries and super easily clean up (i pump hot water thru the system during cleanup) I re-circ back to the BK to whirlpool as well...
