    SG is always low

Another thread on low SG:o. My last four batches have all been way off the mark. I us a 10 gallon cooler for my mash tun. I have tried following the AHS recipes to the letter and what I got from beer smith. I try for about 20 degrees over the recommend mash temp for my strike water? I...

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

I thought about just dumping another dry yeast on top, instead of hydrating.

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Did a batch of this over the week-end. Just wondering how long before I should see some activity. I used hydrated Notty and everything is dead still. Am I being a bit impatient? Thanks

    First wine kit questions

Thanks. I thought that I measured 6 gal, but, maybe I can't count.:drunk: So there is no way that much liquid just "disappears"? I thought maybe evaporation or something in the fermenting process. As you can see, I am a true noob to this. I'll pick up a "box" and continue with the...

    First wine kit questions

Thanks for responding. I didn't do anything except rack from one vessel to the other. Is it normal to lose that much volume? Top up with water...a whole gallon? Man, I think my beer brewing is easier to understand :)

    First wine kit questions

Just racked a winexpert Riesling from primary bucket to a 6 gallon carboy. This is where I'm confused. I filled the primary with 6 gal of liquid. When I racked to the secondary, I had less than 5 gal. What do I do now and where did it go? I thought the idea was to keep 6 gal all the time...

    My first all-grain - got ?s

I just did a Bavarian Hefeweizen and it's ready for secondary ferm. Should I go to another carboy or straight to a keg? It's been in primary for 11 days, how long in secondary/keg? Gonna do BM centennial blonde this afternoon and had a question for those who have brewed this. Original...

    Attaching stuff in the Keezer

Just about done with the build and I'm trying to hook things up. I have a 7CF Holiday and I'm trying to figure out where to attach my secondary regulators. I have a 3 body and I'm just not sure to attach it. I was thinking maybe the on the collar on the back side or on the side over the...

    More noob questions

First I want to thank everyone who has shared their knowledge and experience here! Plus, this has to be the most civil forum I read :tank: Anyways, I'm about 90% finished with my Keezer and now I need some fittings and hose. Some of the things I'd like to know are: Does it really matter...
