    simpler times

I usually don't drink lager, and almost always drink my own, or go to my local growler-filling beer store, but I was in trader joes, and noticed simpler times lager...6.2%, 3.99 per 6 pack... i must say, when slumming, QUITE the good deal!!!!!!

    BIAB Brewing (with pics)

Just make sure you allocate an appropriate number of beers to drink while you wait for the cone to form after whirl-pooling and you will have clear, tannin free wort that will pass thru the spigot/plate chiller without issue. that's the best advice i've gotten so far!;)

hey crookedtail, where do you get your supplies? brewstore in northport or islip?

    BIAB Brewing (with pics)

does help! in prior partial mashes ive done, the instructions contraindicated squeezing the grain bag, but that's why i'm on this forum! w/regard to the grain clogging, i thought the finer particles would get thru the grain bag, but again, i'll take your word for it...BIAB, here i come...thanks!!

Briess Pilsen Liquid Malt Extract (33 lb. pail)

probably not that fast... maybe using 6 10lb batches over a couple of months... but i've just been reading about biab... i might start going that way...

    BIAB Brewing (with pics)

2 points of clarification... with regard to the part where you press the grain w/a pot lid, I've read not to press/squeeze the grain, as it releases tannins... is this an issue, or not so much...#2, when you mill the grains finer, doesn't that clog the spigot when transferring? thanks!!
