    Sweetwater IPA clone!!!

Ohhh I see. Haha I only commented bc my first AG batch I did with the damn thing upside down and over the drain and the result....let's just say its the only batch I've dumped! :drunk: But, I also cut some tubing to give it more snug fit at the bottom of the mashtun. I used the same size...

    Sweetwater IPA clone!!!

Perhaps I'm reading this incorrectly, but shouldn't your false bottom be below the drain hole? If it's above it you are just draining the mash tun without creating the vaccum that pulls the water down through the false bottom then back up through the drain. Could be why it is taking multiple...

HBT > Help make my next beer!

Just got some magnets and a computer fan to put together a stir plate for my starter. Can't wait to get this going. I may switch out the warrior hops for Nugget to try something a little different and add some more late additions? Would love some more input.

HBT > Help make my next beer!

Also thought about using only citra. Anyone have any luck with citra fwh? 60 min addition? Or just stick to everything under 20 for citra?

HBT > Help make my next beer!

I am looking to make an PA/IPA with a fairly hoppy aroma/flavor but not overly bitter. The grains I have are crushed and mixed together so this is the grain bill I'll go with: 10 lbs 2-row .75lbs Crystal 40L .75 lbs Honey malt And yeast: White Labs 001 I'm currently thinking: 1oz...

    HELP! CP/Beer gun accessories>>

Thanks for your responses! I am probably going with the beer gun because that is what I was leaning towards anyway. And, let's be honest here, it sounds so much cooler. Golddiggie - Do you mean the brass 1/4" NPT X 1/4" flare adapter? That looks like the only thing I may not have. I'm...

    HELP! CP/Beer gun accessories>>

I've been thinking about getting a counter pressure filler or a blichmann beer gun, not sure which yet. I've read through a ton of threads but can't seem to figure this out: Can anyone tell me if I need to buy the accessories package? -I have a two tap tower kegerator (I added the second...

    Badfish IIPA

Put this on tap about a week ago and tried some the other day. Wow. That's about all I can say. Wish I had gotten the fg down a few more points, but I can't complain. It's my best beer to date. Thanks for the original recipe! :mug:

    Autumn Seasonal Beer Punkin' Ale

Just finished brewing this. Used warrior and styrian gold instead of the op hop bill because I had some on hand. I ended up with 5.5 gallons at 1.071. I can't wait until this is ready, it smells great. I'll post some pictures later. :mug:

    Autumn Seasonal Beer Punkin' Ale

Just read all 72 pages (whew! Took 3 days). I am excited to brew this! Thanks for postit renoenvy. I plan on using warrior and Styrian gold hops (got a lot of these on hand). Otherwise sticking to the recipe in the op! I'm making my gf make a pumpkin pie while I make this beer, bc I am craving...

    Pumpkin ale critique

No, I completely agree. chrism583: So what would you suggest? Take it back by half? Maybe down to 2 lbs? From what I've read 1-2 pounds is plenty. I'm making one this weekend and will use about two pounds in the mash. This is the thread I'm basing my recipe off, if it helps...

    Pumpkin ale critique

I think you missed the 6 lbs DME in there. But I'd probably come back on the pumpkin a bit. From what I have read, there is rarely a great deal of pumpkin, if any, in pumpkin beers, oddly enough. I don't think they have a great deal of flavor.

    Badfish IIPA

I was making another IPA around the same time so I pitched 1.5 packets US-05 for both. Hopefully it will keep coming down a bit, and maybe racking it to another carboy will wake the yeast up a little. If not, I still love the flavor and don't mind too much if it doesn't come down. On a...

    Badfish IIPA

Just racked onto 3 oz of citra leaf last night. Gravity is down now to about 1.022 or so, I'd like it get it down a little further but I didn't use a starter so I am pleased it is that low. It tastes incredible, kinda like a mix between Torpedo and Hopslam. FYI: I took some beer out after...

    Badfish IIPA

Awesome, I love pretty much anything Sierra does, but especially that Torpedo. I'll let you know how this one ends up turning out. I'm overly excited about this one...
