Automated Valves - Are They Worth It?

If you'd really like to remove disassembly from your cleaning process, you should consider using sanitary diaphragm valves. GEMU is one brand that makes them. They are commonplace in the biopharmaceutical industry (which is quite similar to brewing), and many high end commercial breweries. The...

    My Sub-Zero Build

Hey All, I'd had a 1953 Crosley Shelvador conversion since 2005 (back in my college apartment), but now that I'm brewing more, I needed more space for kegs. So it was time for the "Cougarator" to go (to another good home though)... I found a Sub-Zero 501R on Craigslist in Seattle for $150...

Newbie to kegging has some questions...

Another thing to consider is if you'd like to do CO2 transfers and purging of kegs/carboys/growlers. My Custom 3 Tier, All Stainless, 10gal Batch system

Here are more pictures of just the build of the stand itself. The bases are 2"x1"x0.0625" SS tube. All TIG welded. Good practice for doing sanitary welds later on in the build. HLT Base, notice I left the rear 1/4 out for the heat/fumes to evacuate from the flame. Mash...

My Custom 3 Tier, All Stainless, 10gal Batch system

Thanks all! Currently trying to brew every two weeks, and implementing some sort of new technology every time I brew, whether it's a temperature sensor or an idea I've come up with to streamline the process. Down to about 5.5 hours from heating HLT to everything cleaned up.

My Custom 3 Tier, All Stainless, 10gal Batch system

Introducing the Maven Brewing System. It took roughly 1 year to create, starting with bringing in natural gas pipe into the garage (and oversizing my feed out of the meter), bringing hot/cold water in, and then fabricating all that you see. The controls for now are toggle switches, which...
