    So who's brewing this weekend?

Friday night I'm going to brew a porter. My friend Mike Porter has been asking me to make a porter for a while and name it after him, so...... Mike Porter.

American IPA Dogfish Head 60 Minute Clone (AG) & Extract

Got mine rockin' the other night. Added all the Warrior right at 60 minutes because I had other stuff to do. Subbed Honey malt in for the Amber malt and used S-04, not Pacman. Added the Amarillo and Simcoe gradually from 35 mins to 0 mins (BORRRRING!!!). Since the Amarillo and Simcoe were...

Photos from first ONE gallon brew day...

Hmmm... I want to say that everything is based on 1/2". The CPVC is half inch... Without checking, maybe a 5/8" hole? What I did was basically grab some 1/2" CPVC in Home Depot and fit everything there. Then when I got home, I just used my $6 hole saw set from Harbor Freight.

Thanks for the pics, SanMarzano! Glad you went with it, or might have probably done the normal stuff?

    Portable Cask Serving Station Build

Casked up some ciders a few weeks back and primed them... Tapped the Apple Bottom last night at our homebrew club meeting: I was incredibly happy with it... The carbonation was on, and it held in the PCSS. I had problems before with beer not priming well and going flat. But the cider...

    Quick cask-conditioned ciders...

Tapped the Apple Bottom last night at our homebrew club meeting: I was incredibly happy with it... The sweetness from the xylitol was perfect. I used 7 tbsp for the 1 gallon. The carbonation was on, and it held in my portable cask serving station. I had problems before with beer not priming...

    Quick cask-conditioned ciders...

Quick update... The polypins have swelled, so I moved them to the fridge. Swelling will go away as the gas is absorbed into the cider. Will try one of these soon! Markers:

Thanks! Again, someone else painted the dames, I just arranged them. The whole package is nice... My first beer was NOT that clear or delicious looking. Great work!

Adding mint to a chocolate stout?

Peppermint tea. It's just dried peppermint leaves. I did a porter and added 10 bags to the end of the boil and steeped the other 10 in vodka. Added to taste when bottling.

    Punk'toberfest!

Hmmm.... You're right. "added while I was chilling, and a nice amount of spice ended up on the driveway." Better? :cross:

    Quick cask-conditioned ciders...

OK, so attempted a cider a long time ago and it sucked. Bone dry (0.997) and I junked it up with honey, brown sugar, etc... Came into some cider a few weeks back and decided to do some easy small batches. Went to Cherry Hill Orchards and picked up a gallon each of apple cider and...

    Most of you cannot spell.

"Hmmm... Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter." --Homer Simpson. Amen, brotha! Nice thread. That made my eyes bleed. Not just homebrewers either... I've seen several Pennsyltucky brewpubs mess this sh!t up. PS: NO apostrophe in "brewer's." God...

    Beer/cider blend?

Ahhh, so it has a name! Perfect, it must work then. Why does hard apple cider have flavor? Surely some must remain. Also thinking about "dry-appling" it in secondary. I will be kegging, so I did consider just adding apple juice concentrate then chilling it down to serving temps.
