    Holy S**t! Bar Keepers Friend

Here is a great article for beerstone, you will still have to scrub, but it works, I have used it to remove it from the chiller coils on my Spike Conical Fermentors. https://www.birkocorp.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Birko_Removing_Beerstone_Article.pdf

Hop Utilization Rate for Hop Basket

Appreciate all the feedback. I don't typically do big hopped beers, did a whole hop SMASH over the weekend and that was about as full as my hop spider was. I use a plate chiller and a really leery of tossing the hops (whole or pellets) directly into my boil kettle, hence the hop spider. I...

Hop Utilization Rate for Hop Basket

Has anyone look at utilization rates when using a hop basket? Seems that my IBU's are lower (based on taste only) when using a hop basket. Just wondering if anyone else has ever noticed this or is it all in my mind?

How many of you guys aerate with an oxygen tank?

I used to use the little Benzomatic cylinders but switched over to a regular Oxygen cylinder, I run Spike Conicals, with a TC diffuser, makes the process a lot cleaner/smoother when fermenting.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Finally attempting my first dry run with Fermentrack, I tried to set up v0.14 serial and had a 66.8 degree offset on the beer temp probe (was reading 3.2 F) that I could not adjust for (wouldn't allow any value). I also tried the v0.14 Low Delay, but as it is Wi-Fi only and for some reason the...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Thorrak, Yes the LowDelay is what I referring to, I am running a glycol system. I guess the real question is, can I use that SW version with a serial connection? It is listed as a Wi-Fi set up and so far every time I attempt to use the Wi-Fi version I have connection issues.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Thorrak, Any suggestions on adjusting the cooling delay on my Fermentrack setup? I am currently using the V0.11 serial set up as I kept having problems with the Wi-Fi version, I was using a Wemos D1 mini v4, but switched them out to the v3 due to the issues you have mentioned in previous...

    Fermentrack Question

I was able to get it working with the serial connection. There was a problem with v0.14 however it showed a large offset between the temperature readout(s), I loaded v0.11 and did not see this problem. One of images you showed said you were using a glycol chiller, which version of SW are you...

    Fermentrack Question

Thanks everyone, I will review my wire connections to make sure I am not losing power intermittently (which is one of the things I thought too). As to the static IP address I am still a bit unclear about that. rkhanso, if I read this thread correctly you are taking the MAC addresses for the...

    Fermentrack Question

Thanks for the feedback. So if I understand you correctly you set up a static IP address for your Raspberry PI? I will see if that helps. Looks like the SW and HW are having trouble staying connected (according to what I think I see in the error log). Hopefully setting a static IP on the PI...

    Fermentrack Question

rkhanso, Appreciate the feedback. Your comment about the script starting is understood. That is one of the issues (among many) that I am attempting to understand. I will have to read through the Wemos/Python literature to see how to assign static IP addresses to see if that helps with the...

    Fermentrack Question

I built a Fermentrack controller and I am not having any luck with it. I set up profiles but it never turns the power on to the heating or cooling outputs. The LCD and SW interface are only showing the thermocouple values and not the profile setpoint for the profile it is suppose to be...

    Mash Tun Cooler New Zealand

You could do BIAB and not deal with a screen on the mash tun, or just put it directly in the boil kettle and eliminate the mash tun all together.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

I was able to resolve the issue of not seeing the Lolin v4 devices. Got them communicating and I can see them in Fermentrack. Still working though a few more items that I am not sure about, but I will keep plugging away and see if I can resolve them.

Can you create an offset in brewpiless to compensate back to the ispindel value? Or is there a correction adjustment in brewpiless that adjusts the value of the ispindel?

nhannath, In you image the first line "Name" is whatever you want the iSpindel to show up as in Fermentrack, the last line "Name on device" must match what you named the iSpindel when you set it up (typically "iSpindel_000" or something to that effect), you can always power cycle the iSpindel...
