Sweet Jesus! You might have just introduced me to my new favorite website. Now we need a mobile app!

    5 Days in downtown Denver...advice??

Falling Rock, not a brewery, but great beer with lots of taps.

    kegorator without fridge/freezer

Peltier (thermoelectric) Cooler. They run off 12V so you'll have to get a power supply, but they're solid state and cheap. Look for them and a power supply on e-bay. Make sure you use heat sinks and cooling fans when you run them. Nothing burns out a peltier faster than running with no heat...

Think I went overboard- Too much hops

True, but my point was that you reach a theoretical limit of bitterness/hoppiness. Where you add those in the boil determines the balance.

Think I went overboard- Too much hops

No such thing as too much hops! Regardless, the more hops you throw in, the lower your hop extract efficiency, so even if you mathematically have a 5,000 IBU beer, I think you reach a theoretical limit of around 120 IBU.

    transporting homebrew across state lines

I don't know, I'm with jjones17 on this one. At least he's from BC and not Ontario. The LCBO makes most US liquor laws look lax, with the exception of Pennsylvania of course.

    Howdy from Eugene, OR

Actually, there's the Home Fermenter Center as well. That's where my dad goes, they have a pretty good selection, but I've never been to Valley Vintner & Brewer. Have you been to The Bier Stein? That place is great, I go there every day when I visit home.

    Beertails?... Bocktails?... Beer cocktails?...

This is great. I didn't think there would be this much of a response to my drunken rant. Everyone here has my made my manhood a little more secure with my beer cocktails. And thanks everyone for the new recipe ideas! ~Darren

    transporting homebrew across state lines

I ran into this problem last year when I drove from Central PA to Oregon for my buddy's wedding with eight kegs inside of my kegerator in the back of my pickup. I did a lot of research and found out that it depends on the state that you're driving through. It is NOT illegal to transport home...

    Howdy from Eugene, OR

It's exciting every time I pour one of my beers. I'm from Eugene, OR too!... er, originally, now I live in Pennsylvania.

    Beertails?... Bocktails?... Beer cocktails?...

At the risk of sounding like a total fool to a group not yet accustomed to my strange bi-polar/multiple personality/hypocrisy, I must rant on the subject of beer cocktails. I have not yet formally introduced myself in this forum. My name is Darren, I'm 28 years old, brewing for three years...

    Im getting fat. lol

Swim an hour a day three days a week. Or you could completely un-automate your brewer and do all the heavy lifting by hand. I found that I was gaining excess weight from drinking too much of my beer. I have a kegerator in my living room and drinking two to four pints a night. So I started...

Brewery's to visit in the PNW

I used to live about a ten minute walk from the Grand Lodge, and stumbled home many a night from the yardhouse. They sell growlers in mason jars... priceless.

How do you know when conversion "took place"

When putting a small amount on a white plate, it will no longer appear black, but tan. You will still be able to tell if the iodine reacts with any remaining starches.

Brewery's to visit in the PNW

That's going to be a big list. I'm not too familiar with breweries in Washington or NoCal, but I spent the first 25 years of life in Oregon so I can offer a few suggestions. If you can only visit two breweries in all of Oregon, make sure you hit Rogue and Deschutes. Rogue is available all...
