    RIMS using Grainfather Connect

You can get a plug adapter that'll let you plug pump right into bottom. I would stick to the specs it has for the element. Would be good to do the same for the pump, i think i i remember someone hooking up a bigger pump and it tripping the unit.

Is there a consensus on the 'best' plastic carboys or fermenters?

have speidels and a fastferment, much prefer speidels just due to shape, but no complaints about quality or cleaning.

Munich Helles BierMunchers “Helles Belles” (Munich Helles, AG)

Excellent Recipe. Hoping I can keep my hands off this until New Year's Party because I'm sure it's going to be a big hit.

    Automation for idiots request

That was one of the reasons I started off my posts the way I did :) and also one of the reasons I posted. I'm sure there have been plenty of those and they've slowly dropped down the pages. Also, when I read that a lot of it bounces off because I don't have a grasp on the big picture yet...

    Automation for idiots request

Tons of good information and smart people in here but with 0 experience in this type of thing i'm struggling to get my head wrapped around it, although I want to, and it seems like beginner questions come up quite a bit. Several forums have a sticky that gives the highlights for beginners...

    Cleaning Corny Keg

inside visible is easy but be wary of the dip tube interior -- i'd recommend pulling one ever so often and seeing what comes out. iirc 45 caliber cleaning rod worked well on mine. it's not a special socket, you just need a deep well.

    sabco brew magic

I just bought a 2006 model somewhat impulsively because a guy was clearing house and i decided to get busy living or get busy dying. Brewed one on it haphazardly and enjoyed it (and learned a ton). The simplistic controller doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would but I may try to get...

    Is GFCI really needed?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004IK9HNE/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 thread inspired me to pick up one of these. I like the mobility.

    American Pale Ale Vienna Ale

See picture for beersmith page. Recipe largely formulated out of leftovers but realized when I kicked it yesterday that I thoroughly enjoyed it so I thought i'd share. It got better towards the end of the keg but was fine from the get-go.

American Pale Ale Da Yooper's House Pale Ale

I pitched this directly onto a 34/70 yeast cake from a previous lager, at first i thought i had a disaster but after lagering for about a month it's good -- but way different than the standard recipe.

    Repurpose 20# CO2 Fire Extinguisher

I think the tank and regulator are the sole homebrew items that should avoid diy tinkering. Once pressure is down from 800psi to 12, go crazy. I got a 20# cylinder for $40 on craigslist.
