300 rpm too fast for corona mill

I have never tried either so I'm just asking, have you tried the corona mill? It seems to have very positive reviews in the corona thread. If I were to put a drive package on it I would build guards. The guys on here I see with exposed sheaves and belts make me really nervous.

300 rpm too fast for corona mill

I am planning on picking up a corona mill soon. I have a 1/4 HP EC motor laying around that I can turn down to 300 rpm. Is 300 rpm too fast for a corona mill? I don't like the idea of putting sheaves on the motor or the mill as the bearings aren't designed for that load. Well, I don't want to...

    Show us your Kegerator

That looks great. I am hoping to do the same with my single tower kegerator this summer. I've never done any furniture work before so I have a lot of research and learning to do first.

    Flux in female threads

I just installed the pull through fittings from brewhardware. I used stay clean liquid flux and in the process got it in the female threads. Any one have a suggestion how to get it out? Is there a solvent that will get the burnt flux out of the threads? Its going to be hard to tell if I got it...

Ball lock o ring smaller than pin lock? Doesn't seem right

I measured the larger o rings and they are 7/16 ID and 5/8 OF which according to the McMaster link below that I got from the o ring sticky seems to be correct. So I seem to have gotten a ball lock o ring and some mystery smaller o ring as the pin lock should be bigger...

Ball lock o ring smaller than pin lock? Doesn't seem right

I bought (6) 5g ball lock kegs a few months ago and installed the o-rings from keg connection. They felt a little loose but they work fine. http://www.brewinternational.com/oring-ball-lock-stem-set-of-2/ I just bought (4) 3g ball lock kegs and installed the rings from the link below. The...

    Regulator washer

The washers with the large holes came with the regulator. The hole washers are the ones I just got.

    Regulator washer

I picked up a 20 lb co2 tank today and was going to switch out the regulator washer with one I got from BrewInternational. My regulator has a threaded plug that holds the washer in place and the washers I got don't fit. Anyone know where to get the correct washers?

5lb co2 gone in 1 keg and carbing 2 more

When I put the tank on my scale by itself it said I had .7 lbs after subtracting the tare weight. I weighed it with me holding it and got 3.5 lbs left. The 3.5 lbs is probably more accurate. I messed with the keg post,, turned pressure up and down and everything seems fine now.

    M12 aviation connector wiring

I bought some of the M12 connectors below. Should I just be soldering to each side of the connector or is there some other way I should be wiring these up? http://m.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-connector-M12-12mm-3Pin-metal-audio-cable-aviation-plug-panel-power-chassis-/281126349197?txnId=1635581453018

5lb co2 gone in 1 keg and carbing 2 more

I have put the gas disconnect on the liquid our disconnect before and didn't have any immediate problems. What could happen if you have the gas on he liquid line aside from possibly filling the liquid line with beer if the keg has higher pressure. Full sanitizer purge advocates such as...

5lb co2 gone in 1 keg and carbing 2 more

Thanks for the tips everyone. I'll start doing liquid purged before filling to save on gas. Weighing the tank is a good idea, I'll see where that is at and so if I can figure out if something is plugging up the keg. I dry hopped in a bag but it certainly could have came open.

5lb co2 gone in 1 keg and carbing 2 more

I'm using the same length line for both. The beer I keged and carbed a couple weeks ago seemed over carbonated at 12 psi so I turned it down to 11 psi last week. Maybe it is just under carbonated now. Still figuring this all out.

5lb co2 gone in 1 keg and carbing 2 more

I just started kegging and had a fresh 5lb co2 tank. I bought a commercial 1/6 barrel keg a month ago and put it in the kegerator. I brewed a 5g batch and put in a 5g corney. Purged the headspace 6 times, charged to 30 psi for 12 hours. Bled off the pressure and found it not carbonated...

    Cutting lubricant

Or can I use WD40, 3-1 oil, air tool oil or gun oil? It would be nice to use something I already have laying around rather than buying something for one use.

    Cutting lubricant

What is suggested for oil when drillling into a keggle for soldering fittings on? I see Home Depot has Oatey Dark Thread Cutting Oil, would that be a good option or is there something different I should be using? I would prefer to stick to Home Depot or hardware store purchases rather than...
